Mizuno MP-14 Irons Review

Rate and review the Mizuno MP-14 here.

Just bought a set of these - 2-PW. Got a great deal on them. Are not as hard to hit as i thought they would be, despite the size of the blade. Have gained 10-15 yards over my old irons, even on the first time playing them. Can't wait to REALLY dial these babies in.

I love the club

Got them from ebay used but in good condition. When I hit the sweet spot, the feel is one of the best. What comes close to MP-14 is Titleist 735 irons.

I like these clubs since the feedback is really obvious and matches my goal for the golf. I used to carry Ping Eye 2 BeCu and when I miss hit, it still carries good distance with wrong direction. MP-14 gives me good feedback so that I can work on my swing improvement.

Re: Mizuno MP-14 Irons Review

I have played the MP-14 for eight years. I have also played TM, Callaway, and Titleist. The 14's are a pure muscleback blade, imo, and demand a lot from you. This being said, however; these clubs are not difficult to play. They are beautiful. The quality is top notch. The balance in your hands as you swing them is markably better than many other irons. The club heads are small, the soles are narrow, and the top line is sharp. There is very little offset, if any. I had a set of TopFlite Tours back in the 90's before I bought these. I went from a 14 handicap to a 7 the first year with the 14's. This, of course, was partly due to the fact that I had to pay a lot more attention to striking the ball properly, and on the sweet spot. But it was also a result of fine equipment. If you have the time and desire to do a bit of work these clubs are truly amazing. And for less than 300 bucks you can probably get a decent set. If you get the opportunity to try them out don't pass it up.
