I practice, practice, practice every day in my backyard with an old flagstick and about 200 different pitches, flops, and chips. The only thing holding me back is mental.

But about the irons, thanks, that's what I needed to know. I'm sure I'll end up with a set if I like how they feel on the launch monitor.

Setting up with these clubs is a breeze. Even the "thin" 3-iron top line wasn't an issue. Actually looked "natural," even after hitting the larger Ping heads for so many years.

It appears that these sticks have about the same distance as my Ping's but with a higher trajectory (was playing in 50 to 55 degree weather, so maybe a bit more distance....we'll see as Spring/Summer roll around) - distance control hitting into the greens was better (not as much roll). I suspect that the carbon steel heads being softer are the reason there was no increase in distance even though these clubs are slightly stronger in lofts than the Pings. I would definitely recommend getting fit before buying these clubs to make sure you get the right shaft to maximize distance (I'm glad I extended the shaft 1/2" and got the R300's in Super Lite weight - otherwise I think distance loss would have been significant).

The u-groove design seems to help the ball stop a bit quicker. I also found that working the ball was much easier than with the Ping's - a gentler cut or draw. Great control with consistent ball flight. Again, I think getting fit and correcting my lie angle helped here.

You will know when you mis-hit this club - not a "sting" to the hands though. Some loss of distance but the ball still goes straight (Glad I opted for the MP-60's and not the MP-32's). But when you hit it well, it does indeed feel like "butter" and has that nice crisp feel.

So, I'd say to this point I'm satisfied with the selection Will give more feed-back in the months to come....
Final up-date. Well, I can't say enough good things about this club . I have in fact picked up 15 yards with this set , even with the higher trajectory. I've played about 20 rounds now with these and once you get hang of swinging them, they are as advertised - butter! The feel is the key - I guess that's what everybody loves about a forged club in general and Mizuno specifically. I'll never go back to a cast club. These do scratch up a bit easier than a casting which is a shame because it's such a good looking club - but it's a small price to pay for performance.

I agonized initially between buying the MP-60 and the MP-32, but for me (an 8-10 handicap) this was the right choice . And I can't honestly see how the 32's can be that much different or better.

As said earlier - I believe that one of the biggest reasons these are working so well for me is the fact that I had them fitted. Also, the choice of going with the DGSL shaft I think helps with the feel and swing speed. If you're considering buying these (or any set for that matter) I would HIGHLY recommend that you get fitted - it truely makes a difference.

I got these through TGW . They were great to work with , had excellent pricing, and delivered ahead of when they promised. Excellent experience

Finally, thanks Mizuno - I'll never have another brand in my bag from now on

If it makes any difference I will be getting lessons to further the consistency of my ballstriking this summer, about the same time period when I will be purchasing new irons.

yes a I believe these clubs are for mid handicappers who want precision, and good distance control. The shot dispersion on these is amazing.Youll definitely see a drop in your score with these.

I have a set of MX-23s and all my wedges are Mizuno. What can i say, once you hit them, everything else is inferior in feel and consistency. There is a reason that Mizuno has been the number one choice of PGA players for several years.

MP-60, even a total 30+ HCP Noob can use it!

This afternoon, I demoed the Mizuno MP-32, MP-60, and the MX-23 side by side. I was leaning towards the MX-23 because of my ultra high handicap (30+), but was pleasantly surprised by the MP-60's forgiveness.

First up was the MP-32. Wow, I got schooled. Even when I thought I hit it cleanly, it went straight, low, and to the left. The rest of the time, I either hit it thin or off-center, with a huge penalty in distance. I think I got one decent shot out of 30 balls. However, I noticed that even when I hit some grossly off-center shots, my hands weren't stinging. The shock was surely there to let me know I ******* up, but it was quite gentle. I'd need a lot of patience, but if I practiced regularly, I think I could become good enough to use these with consistency. About $150 less than the MP-60's.

Next, the MP-60. It made me feel like Tiger Woods. About 7 out of 10 were straight, high, and far. That's excellent considering my swing inconsistency. I could have sworn that I was hitting the ball off-center or too thin and yet the ball was being launched to about 170 yards, straight and true. I couldn't believe it! And they call these "player" clubs? What???

Finally, the MX-23. I was hitting about the same number of good shots as with the MP-60, if not more. However, it definitely felt numb compared to the MP-60. Whereas the MP-60 had similar feedback to the MP-32, the MX-23 only let out little blips to the palms during mishits. I didn't feel as challenged and driven to make good shots as with the MP-60. The great thing, though, is that the MX-23's are about $250 cheaper than the MP-60's. It's quite a tough decision between the two if money is a big factor (when is it not?).

For the high-mid handicapper: MP-60's if within budget. Otherwise, the MX-23's.
For the low handicapper: MP-60's if within budget. Otherwise, the MP-32's.

Demo'd the MP-60 today, excellent clubs that offer the performance of the MP-32, with a little bit more forgiveness. I've cancelled my Ping i5 custom fit appointment, these Mizunos are going in my bag.

I have had the MP 60s for about 1 month now. I would say that they are about the same as the 32s that I demoed 300 balls with, just a touch more forgiving. It does not have the same feedback as my practice mp 33, definetly more muted and less "sweet" feeling on good hits; conversely the penalties are not as great. These clubs are great and really make playing more enjoyable from the performance aspect as well as the feel aspect. Don't worry about the lack of offset...I switched from offset cavity backs that I fade/slice off to the right consistently (still) to a light draw on a standard swing without making any concious swing changes...I seem to swing more relaxed and confidently now and have increased distance...practice or the clubs or confidence through both? I don't know but the clubs are awesome and I am playing better than ever.

I've been a Ping Eye2 user for 16 years and since my handicap has dropped since buying them (I'm now a 9) I wanted to try something different - a forged "players" club with more feel and workability, with that soft "butter" feel when hit well. I opted out of blades as I thought that would be too big a jump for an old cavity-back boy. So, I looked at several sudo-cavity models and narrowed it down to Titleist 735's, Callaway X-Tour's, Mizuno MP-32's, or the MP-60's. The 735 were nice, but had a very harsh feel even when hitting the sweet spot - no butter there (but I still love my Vokey's). The X's were also nice to hit, but didn't have the workability I was looking for - and certainly weren't worth the asking price.

That narrowed it to the MP-32's and 60's. Did a lot of reading about these - according to most pro's and iron-junkies (and my bro-in-law who's a PGA teaching pro), these are the holy-grail of forged irons (and also according to legend - Tiger and Ernie used these before being swayed by greed and the darkside of the force).

To be honest, they're both schweet. I hit them several times over several weeks, even did some blind tests (taped 'm both so you couldn't identify them - tried the 3, 6, 7, and 8 irons). They look the same in set-up, but the 60's have a bit thicker top-line - nothing to get excited over though. Now, I really wanted to buy the 32's because of all the "club of the year" hype, the fact that they almost look like a blade, and because of how nice they look. But the more I compared the two, the more I couldn't justify buying a "good looking" club over one that gave me the same (if not better) feel and workability, but with more forgiveness. Mind you, it's not much of a difference, but you can tell the 32 from the 60 on mis-hits. I even tried to justify in my mind the popular combo set (3-7 in 60's and 8-PW in 32's), but there's even a difference in 8 irons when you don't hit them solid.

So, the MP-60's are going in the bag. I'll report back on how they actually measure-up after hitting them for a few rounds....

the mizuno irons are great as far as blades go the mp60 is going to offer the maximum blend between forgiveness and workability. map no doubt that your handicap will improve. If you hit the irons badly at first dont sweat the swing weight is different to what you are accustomed to.I really struggled with my mp37s at first now i love them. enjoy your new irons mate.

I've had these beauties for about 1 month now. they are sweet. i played pings before these and the mp-60's. im very glad i made the switch, but they are a little harder to hit. with the pings, you could basically hit anywhere on the club face and it would go straight, not the mizunos. you really have to concentrate to hit it square. the feel however is like no other. with the pings, i swing, it goes straight. with the mp-60's, i can guide the ball pretty easily. not to mention they fly SKY HIGH. overall, an excellent choice which I am going to stick with for a LONG LONG time. btw my handicap is 16

Just finished a fitting session for my new set of MP-60s. I tried about 8 different sets including Ping, MacGregor, Titleist and the Mizunos won out hands down. I hope to have them in my hands in 2 weeks. I ordered 4-PW with DG S300 +1/2" and +1*, can't wait o hit them and have the clubmaker check the gaps with my Vokeys.
