Thumbs up My 1st thread

I signed up for this account just so I could answer your question Y ou should know that the only club I have played for the past 20 years are PINGS.I started with the EYE 2,changed to the ZING which brought my handy-cap down to single digits, and now I just bought the S59's to take my game to the next level.I have practiced with these clubs outside hitting 40 or 50 balls at a time in mid winter, albeit mild in Michigan terms, and to my delight these clubs are all that I have hoped for. They have a large margin of forgivness which is a PING custom, yet the workability and playability of these clubs are increadible. Players who are 10 hadicap and below and use these clubs should benifit by the less offset face of the S59.As we all know at first a player wants to hook the ball to become a better player; and the cast cavity-back models can help you do that, but this club helps you become a complete player moving the ball right to left as well, without loss of distance. In closing I cant recomend this club highly enough for an advanced player..P.S.....Great distance also, a ha lf club or more longer than my ZINGS.

Just ordered a set after trying them out at the Ping testing centre in UK.

Loved them to bits, more forgiving than I expected and a dream to hit.

Very very solid feeling clubs. Either version of them are top notch. I just bought a set of I 5's which I have only had a chance to hit once. These are also nice clubs.

I think I'll grab a set of the S 59's as well.

Maybe not. I just ordered a set of callaway X Tours.

I could not get over how many players were using S59's at the Masters. 1 player even had a Taylor bag and had s59's in it.

I just bought a set of s59's used and was very disappointed with the distance. After having hit them at Austads many times and have great results, I thought I would hang up my Ping ISI Nickels and get these. I then realized that my ISI's were 1" extended so I reshafted the s59s with rifle 5.5 shafts and boom, distance is back to normal. I really love the feedback from these clubs and the workability is right on with where I want to take my game. My handicap has been dropping about 2 strokes a year, down to a 5 this year, my hope is that with these, I can get to a 4 or 3.

Played them for a year. I always give irons time for break in and so on. I was not impressed. Up untill the I5 I feel that Ping has slipped a notch. I now play the X Tours and have since shaved a full stroke from my 3 handicap. The X tours are more forgiving and have much better distance control.

Before any Ping fans get upset with this I would like to note that I had the same shafts in both sets. Ping did right the ship so to speak but I think they had a miss with the S59.
