Cleveland CG4 Irons Review

i recently picked these irons up and like them so far (3 rounds)... they seem to lofted a bit strong, but nothing i can't compensate for.. i love the feel of the ball on the face of the club, they're really soft on the face.. and the topline reminds me of the g2's which i like.... anyways, give some feedback on what you guys think

I'm thinking of upgrading my irons for a set of CG4's, I haven't hit them yet, but plan to, to see how well I hit them.

Also thinking about the Mizuno MX-17's, so if you have any feedback on those, i would appreciate that as well.

Cleveland CG4

What does everyone think about these irons? I just got my set today, and absolutely love them.

Of course i had to take them out to the course and I must say, I have never hit so many greens in my life.

I find it hard to believe that such great irons do not have a review for them

I like them...Good workability for game improvement clubs. I don't own them but I've played a few rounds with them.

I love my set. I was consistenly shooting in the low 100's. Since i've gotten them, i have shot in the low 90's twice, and had a chance to shoot 80's both times, but i choked. Very forgiving irons, and it seems as though i'm also getting much more loft then i was w/ my older set.

My distance doesn't seem to have changed much. Maybe 5 yards at most, but my accuracy has improved and that's what the big difference is for me.

My dads old irons. A set of Dunlop DDH's. Nice little cheapo set, but a good starter set.

I've been looking at the MX-17's and hit them a couple times. I seem to hit them really well. Has anyone compared those with the cg4's? It looks like the cg4's are quite a bit more in price.

The CG4 and the MX-17 were the two i was really interested in. I hit 10 shots w/ the cg4's stiff shaft 6-iron. 8 out of 10 went straight w/ an average distance going about 160~170(I had one that went 185 o_0).

After that session, i went to go hit the mx-17, exact same set up, after about the 6th shot, he told me to stick w/ the clevelands, my shots with the mx-17's was an exact replica of army golf, every shot was going left, right, left, right...... you get the picture.

I would say go out and test out the ones you're interested in, then go on ebay and purchase the set you want. I got the CG4's brand new in box, w/ the plastic still on the grip and head's for $415 shipped. $300 difference from the store.

B4 i got these irons, my handicap was in the 29~30 range, in the last couple of rounds, i've brought it down to 25. And it keeps getting lower.

Thanks for the help guys. The clubs have arrived but I have yet to make it to the range/course. CrAcKaJaP206, nice price! I paid $559.
I did nothing but online research before buying these clubs. I know, not the right thing to do, but my old clubs were such junk that anything would be better. I will let you all know how they do for a 31 year thats been golfing for 20 years and has a 15 handicap. I golf about 3 times a year now. Mostly because I have lost the love for the game, I hope these clubs will change that as golfing with a set of Callaways did the last two times out.

Thanks for the info on the 2 sets of clubs. I'll definitely have to try out the cleveland's before I buy anything. I'm a similar handicap and would love to see it go down.
