-> Cobra S9 vs. Cobra FP Irons Comparison

Anyone try out or own either the Cobra S9 or FP iron sets?

I really like their new hybrid, the Baffler DWS and figured I would look into their irons as well.

I currently have Adams GT3's an am really in no rush to upgrade just yet but I am getting a little tired of the lack of vibration dampening. Also looking for irons that are only moderately offest but still forgiving. The offset confuses me at address and I generally get the club pretty square so I figured I'd at least try some neew irons to see if I feel a little better at address.

Thanks in advance.

I am also curious to hear reviews on these irons as they are at the top of my list to replace my MaxFli revs.

Just bought the FP's and love the forgivness they have. Same distance as my Hogan Apex Pluses but so much more forgiving.

The S9's do look nice, I was checking them out in one of my catalogs.

I have a good opinion of Cobra just for the fact that they (and Ping) seem to have the best selection and most options overall of new gear for lefties like myself - especially in fairway woods.

How accurate are they? It seems like Cobra is marketing both the FP and S9's as forgiving. However, Cobra says the FP set is balanced between forgiveness and playability.

I'm new to the game but I'm a good ball striker so I'm looking into the slightly smaller soled FP irons.

hespeler,
Not accurate enough for a pro (I'm guessing) but just fine for my 13 handicap.

Just bought a set of the of s9's hit them in on the launch monitor and was fitted with the Nippon steel stiff and 2* upright. Like to look of these and hit them well so I hope they turn out to be good once I hit the course.

I am considering the s9 as well. I've hit the fps in the simulator and didn't hit them as well compared to the s9s

The S9 is nice. Very strong set, the gap wedge is 49* and pitching wedge is 44*. I did the Hot Stix program at golfsmith and it spit out a list of clubs that I should play. Of the 10 clubs on the list I hit the S9's, Ping Rapture and Callaway Fusions about the same. Hitting them all pretty similar made an easy decision as the Cobra S9's were about $400 cheaper than the others.

Hey,

I think S9 is made for High Handicap golfers. And its the Editor's choice at Golf Digest.

FP irons is quite forgiving too though. I think what's best for you is to hit it by yourself, and decide later which is more to your feel.
