I hit the G10 irons yesturday and the driver. The irons feel very solid and the clubs are very light. They will go in my bag soon. I bought the G10 driver and used it today. I hit 10 fairways with it. My longest drive of the day 286. Most were 260 265.
Hit the G10 Irons today, very nice and solid. Great ball flight and distance. I had tried out the G5's several times and was very close to making the purchase . . . I'm glad I waited.
Got fitted by a Class "A" PGA Pro, must have hit a fifty balls from a lie board, etc., my new G10 Irons (3-PW-2° upright) will be here in about ten days.
Feels good to be moving into the 21st century, my fourteen year old Titelist DCI Black Irons were certainly "old school".
Played my first round with new G10 irons today . . . went 3 over on the front and 6 over on the back nine. I like them a lot, started experimenting on the back to see how hard I could hit them with control, had a tendency to pull them about 10 yards left when hit too hard. The only thing in the bag I like better is my new G10 driver . . . Overall I am very pleased with these clubs.
I was looking for a new set of game improvement irons. SO I tried out the new 10 series. The G's are really easy to hit, rather large with a wide top line. In my opinion they where more like super game improvement irons than game improvement. My Pro and fitter stated the G's wont be a very workable club. So then I tried the I's and these where nto for me, to small of a club face and very blade like to me, so I know I wouldnt have much success with them. So then my fitter had me swing the I5, and that was the club for me, they should be here my this weeks end.
My fitter stated Thursday, that Ping is taking about 3 weeks or so to deliver the 10's, they are running more behind than the usual 7-10 days.
I was surprised to see how close in size the I10's and the S58's were. I love the look of these irons. The driver seemed a little to closed face for me but looks great. I will def. stick to my rapture but right now i cant justify buying the I10's when ive only had my I5's for less then a year.
I ordered my G10's after getting fitted for them on Saturday. I didn't go to the fitting with the intensions of buying Ping's however after hitting them during the process I was very happy with them. I was told it would be a couple of weeks as well, which is fine since it's getting colder. Was hoping to get a round in with them but may be able to anyway, thanks to global warming.
The G10 driver looks to have a larger profile than the G5, meaning more width and length rather than depth from crown to sole. An older gent who I play Saturday skins with just got a 9.0 degree with the ProLaunch Red shaft. It has an impressive sound. I didn't hit it, but he likes it better than the FT-i he traded in.
I do like the shaft options. The ProLaunch Red is probably the lowest trajectory of any stock shaft on a big name club. That sort of shaft appeals to my needs, so it's a welcomed option. It seems like ProLaunch Blue and NVS type shafts are the norm for stock shafts.
I have the G10 5-PW irons, 21* and 23* hybrids, and the G10 3-wood. It's safe to say that I think these are the best clubs you can buy now a days. The G10 irons are so easy to hit, and they arn't all that chrome/fancy, just look good sort of clubs. But at the same time have an amazing look that definetly looks modern day. Also, the G10 irons are by far the most forgiving irons I have ever played. The hybrids are also amazingly easy to hit, but at the same time, you're golf ball isn't all over the place like some of the other hybrids out there. Overall, I think the whole PING G10 series is a must buy! Happy golfing.

Same with me man.... i had a couple of demo i5's and i LOVE them just gotta get around to getting a new set of irons.... CANT DECIDE.. for now my zuno's are gonna have to do
My current irons are the Ping I3+ Blades. Has anyone compared these to the I10s?
The I3 blades look to have a little more weight around the perimeter, so I would guess them to be slightly more forgiving. Comparing the i5 to the i10, the i10 definately has less offset and less perimeter weighting. You can compare the lofts, shafts and lengths at PING : Stories.
