Re: Callaway 2008 Big Bertha Iron Review

Let me say up front i am 60 years old and play with graphite reg shaft.

I bought a used set off the internet.

I play them. I also have the Big Bertha 04 and 06 irons. They are very forgiving and long.

I hit the ball high and straight. If you are looking for an iron to work the ball with this is not the iron. If you like to hit it high and straight then this is your club.

When I started playing Callaway irons last year I had to get used to the thick top line and the feel of graphite shafts.

The 4 and 5 ibrids took a little time to get used to, but now I am confident with them. They work very well out of the rough and off the tee.

I have played them for over a year and like them.

I am a high handicapper looking to buy new irions. Everyhing I have read says the Big Berthas are the most forgiving iron, so I think I've narrowed it down. I am torn between purchasing the 2008 Big Berthas with the 3,4,5 I-brids or the traditional 2006 Big Berthas. Anyone have any info on the I-Brids? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have heard that the i-brids and even the regular irons are large and rather clunky, thus not good for people with slower swing speeds. Any confirmation on this?
