646 pound catfish caught in Mekong River.....

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/8404622/

I happened across this article when the usually annoying popup thing came up upon opening MSN messenger this evening and just had to take a gander. 10 pound fish are tough enough for me, so I can imagine that a fish 65 times that big would be a handful!!

Oh My........
I'm trying to image what they where thinking when that fish started coming to the surface and a eye the size of there head was staring back at them. And I don't care if it was only a fish, that would still scare the *somthing* out of me.

That'd scare me if I was reeling that thing in, I'd probably chuck the fishing rod back in the water, jump out of the boat and swim away

You know there is going to be some back woods fisherman claiming he had a 700 pounder in his boat just last week, but released it back into the wild

That is amazing.....

At the local lake here in North Augusta (Strom Thurmond Lake) a buddy of mine was fishing on the dam.....well a scuba diver came up and surfaced right beside his boat so my friend asked him what he saw down there.....he said there was a plane down there from a plane wreck back in the day and said that there were cat fish down there the size of CARS!!!.....I wonder if that is true and i wonder if catfish that size are in most lakes it is just that they are too deep and have never been seen

I used to be a diver, and yes the catfish get big enough in the deepwater lakes near the dam to literally eat you. They are very dangerous to divers.

Break out the chain saw and start cleaning.....it is going to take a lot of hush puppies to go with that fish.

Anybody ever hear of 'graveling' for catfish? Seems like catfish automatically open their mouth every time something touches it, so these FOOLS wade next to a riverbank and feel up under it to find catfish! Man! When I think of all the other things that could be under there!

When I was growing-up there was a large farm pond near my house my buddies and I would go there and catch bass that would come down the spill-way at the dam. We would run our hands up under the rocks and feel for the fish never crossed our minds the we could grab a snake or large alligator turtle. If our parents hand know what we were doing grabbing the snake or turtle would have be mild.
