Thanks Dave! Is that a golf hole on an aircraft carrier?
Yeah, I thought it was pretty imaginative although not real unfortunately, just a digital photograph manipulation. The original photo was really high resolution and looked great, but it had to be shrunk down a ton to use it as an avatar.
Still Dave, that's a very cool avatar. My old unit was the 1st BG 15th Inf 3rd ID and I am using that as my avatar 'til they get back from Iraq. I have a blue crab painted in the Maryland flag colors that I want to use, but I can't figure out how to shrink it down to size. Any suggestions?

I think that's a great idea and a good way to support your unit. Hopefully they all return safely. Did you spend any time in the middle east?
Regarding shrinking a photo, do you have Windows XP? If so, double click on the picture and it should open up in a program called Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. Once it is open, look at the bottom right of the screen and click on the button just to the left of the ? button. This should open up a picture editor. Then, go to the menu heading at the top of the page called "Image" and select the option to "Stretch and Skew". Then, change the Stretch % for Horizontal and Vertical until you get a size that will work as an avatar. Depending on how big the original is, maybe try 30% for both horizontal and vertical and if that doesn't work, try 25%, then 20% and so on until it works. Good luck!
Thanks Dave, I'll give that a try. No, I wasn't in the Middle East- I am an OLD soldier! I was in in the 60's in Germany. But the 15th is also Audie Murphy's old outfit, so there is a lot of pride still in it. I have been watching the show 'Over There' and while it was scary having 20,000 + Warsaw Pact tanks arrayed against us, at least we knew who our enemy was. I really feel for the guys now-they're not soldiers anymore....more like cops, politicians and whatever. A different world,eh?
Amen to the "a different world" thing. In the past, the news media didn't control how we fought a war. Now we're so afraid of offending anyone that our soldiers aren't allowed to do the job of securing an area.
Was about to get a bit crude concerning my thoughts on that matter, but I won't out of respect for those of you who have people over there.
I'll pray for them all a safe return home instead.
