His illness was kept out of the main stream media....I did not know he was not doing well. Has anyone ever noticed the similarity of acting styles between Alan Hale and Oliver Hardy?

Did you ever see "Hang 'em High"? I remember seeing that, after watching Gilligan's Island as a kid and thinking Clint Eastwood killed Skipper!

I was traveling for work last week and didn't even hear. I love that show and especially gilligan (although I prefer Mary Ann - Grrrrrr). At least the reruns will always be with us.
