Watch What You Say...

Father Norton woke up Sunday morning and realizing it was an exceptionally beautiful and sunny early spring day, decided he just had to play golf.

So... he told the Associate Pastor that he was feeling sick and persuaded him to say Mass for him that day.

As soon as the Associate Pastor left the room, Father Norton headed out of town to a golf course about forty miles away.

This way he knew he wouldn't accidentally meet anyone he knew from his parish. Setting up on the first tee, he was alone. After all, it was Sunday morning and everyone else was in church!

At about this time, Saint Peter leaned over to the Lord while looking down from the heavens and exclaimed, "You're not going to let him get away with this, are you?"

The Lord sighed, and said, "No, I guess not."

Just then Father Norton hit the ball and it shot straight towards the pin, dropping just short of it, rolled up and fell into the hole.

IT WAS A 420 YARD HOLE IN ONE!

St. Peter was astonished. He looked at the Lord and asked, "Why did you let him do that?"

The Lord smiled and replied, "Who's he going to tell?"

Feel free to give others laughs off it. Thanks for asking, the employment situation looks better here Anthony, at least for the time being. The on-call time has changed and everyone's in the rotation now so I don't get stuck with taking many, many support calls -- I love that!

Also they have a new project that I'm going to be a part of rewriting a system that I have some knowledge about...good thing there too.

Appreciate the concern man! How's things with you these days?

Very much the same! kids have been back at school for 7 weeks now and break up for 2 weeks holiday on the 7th of Oct so we are all looking forward to some family time!
Harvest is all in and the farm is fairly quiet, we will probably put the cattle away in the sheds late November so we will all take things easier until then.

Enjoy your time with the family during the break....what are your avg temps during the day? We're starting to get 70's right now which is very pleasant around here, shame is that I can't find a way to get out and play...oh well, I'll get over it.

We are into the low 60s now which is about right for the time of year but summer never really shown itself, thankfully Sept was a really good month, temps were about average but it stayed dry with a prevailing south- southwest wind which was great for drying the barley crop.
The water around Scotland is at its warmest in October so I,m looking forward to getting back into the diving world(my profession-though sort of semi-retired) and will also play quite a few rounds over the next month-6 weeks.
We will have to all work round my 2 kids though as you know they can be demanding!
