A simple thought for the day

Here is something that was giving to me several years ago and I keep on my desk for the times that people or situations start to get to me I read this and it puts things in a different perspective. I thought I would share with all of my friends here on GR I do not know who the author is but that does not matter, please enjoy.

Thanks

Hal

IF……

“If you can start the day without caffeine. If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains, If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles, If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it, if you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time. If you can overlook it when those you love take it out on you when, though no fault of yours, something goes wrong, If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend, If you can face the world without lies and deceit, If you can say honestly that, deep in your heart, you have no prejudice against creed, color, religion or politics, If you can give love unconditionally without pressure or expectation, Then my friend you are ALMOST as good as your dog.”

That's a good one Halk. I was listening to talk radio the other day and they were discussing some study about dogs that DO seem to react differently to people of a different race/color and even different ethnic groups. They discussed some of the different theories. I find it hard to believe dogs would act in this manner unless they'd had a very traumatic experience early on or were trained to do so.

My dog

My dog thinks I'm witty, charming & attractive. Of course, all I gotta do is to continue providing beggin' strips. I call that a good deal.

my dog wants to play all the time

and he, "Halo", loves golf....chasing and cheewing golf balls around the woods next to the course. golf balls bounce real good on pavement then hides in the grass...nearly perfect for a retriver....golf balls do not float well; however.

"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the things you did do." Mark Twain

yeah, my adorable dog can afford to be such a good friend and play buddy because, in part, he doesn't need to work for a living...he eats my bacon.

p.s. i 'curb' my dog
