Space Shuttle..!

I can`t find a really good concise site about the space shuttle (especially the shuttles future even on the NASA website). Is there a `son-of-space-shuttle` in the pipeline? Surely there is a limit to the lifespan of the shuttles, and I`ve read that they will be phased out shortly after 2010, but haven`t heard anything about its replacement.

I can find info on what it`s done and how it works, but I can`t find info on the future plans of the shuttle program. Only a couple of unrelated features about returning to the moon and the possibility of a venture to Mars!

BTW...congrats on your green jacket golf-a-holic

...I also read somewhere that the shuttle was due to be phased out sometime shortly after 2010. I`m surprised that it`s so difficult to find info anywhere on the future of `payload` programs, as this field is now becoming very competitive with the Arian 5, Japanese and Chinese space programs all vying for the same marketplace. There must be tens of thousands of jobs in America directly depending on the success of satelite launches and yet the whole topic (from this side of the pond at least) seems very quiet! This article is quite interesting.
