Personally, I don't think the Pistons have a shot at beating the Lakers but I hope they pull a miracle. I really can't stand the Lakers. Being a Suns fan, I can't really cheer for the Suns to win the NBA Championship so I kind of cheer for everyone but the Lakers. Thing is, they've won it 3 out of the past 4 years!!!!
The reason the Pistons are where they are is because of defense, of course, they can't hold the Lakers under 60 points, but I seriously feel they can hold them under 80 points, so,, Wallace's..get out there and play hard. rebound...etc...and let darko Milicic play...it's going to be a Laker victory, I'm just hoping for 7 games and no sweep.....later, Monty
If Darko plays it means only one thing....the game is either safely won, or hopelessly lost. I'm glad the Piston's are in the Finals but I believe that's due more to the very weak East than their stellar play. Can anybody in the NBA score without dunking or shooting threes? The Eastern Conference play-offs have been exciting games, but I wouldn't use footage as a teaching tool. These East teams just stink offensively. Yeah, the Pistons have been playing well defensively but you can't credit all those "bricks" to good defense. Lakers in 5
yes, u r correct...darco is a learning machine ready to come into a full-time job, hopefully he won't go down as the worst 2nd pick ever...the eastern conf. has mostly always been weak, except for 2 periods...Larry Birds Celtics teams and M.J.'s Bulls.....other than that...AAA all the way, another thing, what are the Kings going to do as far as trades and releases..??

being the worst 2nd pick ever isn't that bad. i think he's still a millionairre right? it's also better than being whoever it was that was picked before michael jordan or the person in the front office who made the pick.
Well, the Pistons took game one today. I still don't have much hope that they can beat the Lakers, though. If they can pull off another win in game 2, I might get my hopes up but right now, I don't expect much.
GO PISTONS! I hate the Lakers. I watched some of the game last night and loved the way Tayshaun Prince put the clamp on Raper, whoops I mean, Kobe Bryant. Prince played for my beloved UK wildcats, so I am rooting for the pistons all the way. I wouldn't be so sure if Larry Brown doesn't pull a rabbit out of his coaching hat and win the series.
The Pistons really have me excited. I despise the Lakers for the same reasons I despise the Yankees, the Duke Blue Devils and in the past, the Chicago Bulls. I just want someone else to win. The Pistons should be up 3-0 right now if it weren't for that collapse at the end of game 2. I still think the Lakers will be tough to beat but I'm now optimistic that it's actually possible.
BTW, did you all hear the commentators talk about how the night before, Detroit fans were across the street of the Laker hotel yelling? There were also cars driving around honking their horns to keep the players up.
I thought that was hilarious about how Pistons fans were causing ruckus outside of the Lakers hotel. It's a pretty simple, yet ingenious idea. Does anyone know how it started up? I figured it would be a radio station promo but who knows, maybe a bunch of Pistons fans decided on their own to do it.
there sure are a lot of pistons fans on this board. i smell a bandwagon.
the pistons play great d but i just can't see them holding kobe to 11 points and shaq to 14 points again in this series. you could tell kobes shot was off in the first half but in the 2nd half, he hit a few jumpers. i think he'll definitely bounce back from this to have a great game 4. then there's shaq. he's unstoppable. look for more fouls to be called on the pistons in game 4 as phil has been working the media. as a laker fan, things aren't great but considering we should be down 3-0 now, it's not that bad of a position being a win away from tying the series and taking home court advantage.
3 games to 1, but I wouldn't count the Lakers out yet. TV wants seven games.
ABC isn't the only one who wants seven games. The NBA does, too. What kind of tricks does David Stern have up his sleeve?
Anyway, I couldn't be any more pleased with how this series has gone so far (except for the collapse in game 2). Hopefully, the Pistons will close it out at home on Tuesday. I'm not even a Pistons fan. More like a fan of "everyone against Shaq and Kobe." Depite my allegiances, I actually almost placed a bet on the Lakers before the season started to win it all but I couldn't bring myself to do so. Glad I didn't. :D :D :D
