Exclamation Please Evaluate These 2 Virus Scan Log Files

Greetings ....

Although I have McAfee VirusScan active and running on my PC, and do occasional "on-demand" scans, and although I have and use both SPY-BOT and AD-AWARE, dealing with viruses and spyware is still something I am not too well practiced in.

Here's a link to My Most Recent Virus Scan Log File .. NOTE: file is just over 120kb in size!

Please feel free to look the file over and point out anything noteworthy.

UPDATE -- Here's a 2nd scan file, 58+ kb size, using PANDA software

Thanx-A-Lot, Frank-0-Sport

You really need to be running a scan for viruses every week. I would also recommend Norton over McAffee. I find that Norton does a better job and Norton also find spyware files and removes them whereas McAffee doesn't.

I would actually recommend Avast 4 Home Edition which you can download HERE for free.

Have used this for years and recommend it to all my friends, family and customers that I see out in the field.

Using Avast along with a good spyware program (I use Ad-Aware and Spybot), I rarely have any problems with any virus, worm or spyware.

Unfortunately I've seen too many people have problems with Norton, although admittingly it is usually the end user who doesn't realise that you have to start paying for it after the initial free couple of months, therefore the latest virus definitions are not installed, which in turn renders the PC more or less totally unprotected.

Virus:BAT/Silly.127
Virus:Eicar.Mod

Bat silly is a Trojan, have a go with ad-aware with the latest defintions.
The Eicar.mod is a test String it is not a real virus. It is a text file that is used to test antivirus software. By default, the file name is Eicar.com, but it could be renamed to any other name. You can safely quarantine then delete the files infected if panda has not already done so.

Does anybody know how to get rid of a virus called Trojan.Vundo? I've had it for a while and the Norton analysis says I'm gonna have to get a professional to get rid of it for me, but if there's some software that can do it for me that'd be great.

Symantec, Norton's parent company, has a remover on their site - http://securityresponse.symantec.com...oval.tool.html

Unless you're on a network or are totally helpless when it comes to computers (which I doubt!), I don't see any reason you couldn't run this yourself.
