Music is meant to elicit emotion from its listeners. Laughter, crying, happiness, sadness, thinking, mindlessness...it seems there's something to fit every emotion. However, on rare occasions, there is a song that comes along that is so horrible, it nearly causes your brain to malfunction when you hear it. It's the one that makes you change the station, or the one that you delete from your library because you can't believe how it got there in the first place....what are the songs you just can't stand?
My bottom 5:
5. "We Built This City"-Starship. It's not so much that I hate the song, as it's pretty good to make fun of and laugh at, but I have to acknowledge just how bad a song it is with this pick. Absolutely no redeeming quality in this song, and it loses me every time at the traffic report.
4. "D'yer Maker"-Led Zeppelin. My favorite band, so you know the song must be pretty annoying. This is simply a disgrace to the name of a great band like Led Zep. Once Plant breaks into "Oh oh oh oh oh oh, you don't have to go...", nothing can save this from utter atrociousness...*shudders*
3. "Lovefool"-The Cardigans. This one goes back to the days of my youth, when it was a very popular song about the time I entered high school (grades 7-12 around here). It got well more radio play than it ever deserved, and to this day, when it comes on drives me nuts. The voice is completely bothersome and the music is just as bad.
2. "Blue (Da Ba De)"-Eiffel 65. A song that was OK the first couple times you heard it, and then just wore out its welcome fast. Repetitive and dull, with nothing going for it but catchiness. Thankfully I've personally heard nothing else from Eiffel 65 since, because I can't hear that name without thinking of this awful song.
1. "The Final Countdown"-Europe. I have to admit that I've only listened to the entirety of this song once, but it was enough for me. The synthesized, poppy sound leading up to the dramatic "it's the final countdown!!" is enough to make me
Here's just a few, courtesy of a quick Google to some that come to mind:
"Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)", Eurythmics
"Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?", The Culture Club
"My Sharona", The Knack
"Hey Mickey", Toni Basil
"You Don't Bring Me Flowers", Neil Diamond (Barbra Streisand)
Anything on the radio by Jet. I don't know who said they were good, the dj here put it on once - I guess he had to, but he said they are one of the worst bands ever, then he played the song - someone must have requested it...
Nine Inch Nails - the drums get too mechanical and repetitive. They had a contest where you get to remix their song "Only". The guy who won that thing made an awesome mix - they should play that version from now on instead.
Finally...rap music in general, southern and gangsta to be specific. Just to make this clear, I grew up on NWA, Run DMC, Rakim, etc... It's just that a lot of it has become very lazy and weak. I guess that I'm more embarassed about what it's become. There are a few artists or groups that are very good and still have that certain kick that made hip-hop so big, but there are a lot of imitators out there. I mean, I'd rather see someone made a ****** cd instead of selling drugs, but the music right now seems to limit itself more than anything other form of music. Besides Yanni - which I will never listen to or buy.

At the interprovincials I went to this year that song was the theme song haha, I think I must've heard that song about 10 times while I was there.
My brother went to his friend's wedding a few weeks ago in Tijuana and the DJ had the nerve to play this song. My brother said, "Man, they must want us to leave now..."

I would have had him tarred and feathered!!
I had my wedding there a year ago.......I should have thought of doing that to get everyone to leave!!!
Parties do not END at regular scheduled times. LOL.
"Holiday" by Green Day
"American Idiot" by Green Day
anything by Something Corporate
And pretty much anything on the radio that I've heard over 50 times.
an episode of "Rockstar INXS" a couple of months ago on television and one of the contestants came up with an original song entitled "Trees". It went something like this....
"You and me up in the trees, and the forest will provide the answers. You and I up in the sky, ....a recipe for disaster."
It was a song that I can't stand yet can't seem to forget!
Anything that Neil Young is part of - whiny liberal puke.
To name some specific songs by others:
"Reflex" by Duran Duran
"Save a horse, ride a cowboy" by Big and Rich (who in the world told these guys they had talent?)
"Feel Like a Woman" by Shania Twain - she was meant to be looked at, not listened to!
"Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani - so glad my kids hate it, too!
Gotta stop before I spend all night listing the ****** songs that radio thinks we have to hear!
