Another spin off our "worse" threads......
There are some songs that are GREAT until you have to sit through an evening of Karaoke renditions of them. Some songs are just great when they are performed well, and then others....well.....you just have to enjoy the fact they they are having fun and have the guts to get up there...

As I judge frequently, I have a few:
Bad:
I Will Always Love You - Great when someone can, but whew, when they can't.......look out.

American Pie - Not because of content or quality, but because it is SOOOOO long.

My Heart Will Go On - ........another song in which three people will sing it within 20 minutes of each other, and sure enough, here comes another one......

I Will Survive - there's only so many times you can listen to this I'm sorry... get over it, leave, go out the door please.... we get it.

The GOOD: (when they're done well, it's just awesome!!!)

Proud Mary...because Karaoke usually involves Tequila or something close. The faux entertainer is usually not real pretty at this point. Also anything by Barry Manilow, such as "Mandy".

Well, I love karaoke. Last Friday, I met a friend for lunch and right after, we headed right for the karaoke bar at 2 pm. It doesn't get better than two person karaoke because you don't have to worry about being a mic hog, lol.

Anyway, a couple of bad ones I can think of include Macarena and Barbie Girl even though I'm all for singing stupid songs at karaoke bars.

I'm going to have to look up Barbie girl.

Just realized there is definately a big difference in music selection depending on the area you live.
