I live in Bay Minette Alabama, which is about 30 miles east of Mobile. As we all know, we all were pretty much ripped with bad weather last night, but my wife and myself are lucky to be here. Around 2:00am CT the line of storms fell in on my rural area of Bay Minette... It was raining hard, which was not a big deal until I heard a ver Loud roaring sound.. I ran to my room jerked my wife into the bathroom, and it was over. The sound was gone.. It was like someone turned off the loud speaker. During this short period.. I felt the pressure inside my house.. It was so tight that mine and my wifes ears popped.. It threw my padio furniture up against the front of my house and then scattered it throughout the yard.. Ripped my flag pole off the front porch pillar.. threw it about 150 yards to my brothers where more damage was done. It was like someone threw a grenade on his pump house.. It ripped the water pipes out of the ground.. It knocked pictures off his wall. We are very blessed to be alive. I have never been so scared in my life.. I hope everyone else in the central part of the States made it out ok..

p.s. Man, it's cold here...gonna get to 24 tonight but it's clear and a beautiful full November moon.
We live in the central part of Alabama and were a little concerned about the weather Tuesday night. Tornado warnings in the middle of the night are a scarry thing and thankfully we didn't have any problems close to us.
Happy to hear you came out relatively unscathed. Althought the tornadoes down here in the south are rarely as large as the ones in the Plains and MidWest, they are still frightening and powerful enough when you personally experience them. The noise they produce becomes permanently entrenched in your memory!
Bay Minette is a great little area - like boomer, I also used to live in Ft Walton Beach, and have driven over to your area with friends to go fishing. I hope the overall damage to the area wasn't too bad.
Thanks for all the well wishes. We did not occur that much damage.. I think it just damaged me mentally.. I am scared of bad weather. I would rather climb in a hole and hide out.. Thanks again.
Glad to hear everything and everyone is alright.
My life changed forever on May4, 2003. I had a strong f3 hit my subdivision. I had my wife and kids downstairs in the basement. I went back upstairs to get our portable radio. When I opened the door at the top of my stairs you actually heard a suction sound kind of like a mix between a pop and suction. I grabbed my radio and headed back downstairs. The tornado some how skirted my backyard but left my house alone. It sounded like river that over flowed its bank. The roar is deafening. The tornado that hit Pierce City is the same monster that hit My area.http://www.stormchase.net/Pierce.htm
