Weather in your area

Just raising a topic that has been brought up from time to time in other threads... what is the weather like right now where you live?

Here, on top of the coast mountains the last 4 days (temperature wise, *C) have been 8*, 8*, 12*, 11*, and tomorrow is supposed to be 11* up there. Since opening wednesday with a base of 145cm (4.5 feet) of snow, on particular mountain has dropped to 93cm (3 feet) (most of the more popular runs have even less - when i went up friday night, i hit a few rocks sticking out of the snow)... Having Dec 4th off, i was originally planning to go skiing, but if the weather continues in this pattern, i may end up on the course instead... Winters here are getting worse every year... the last AMAZING winter i remember having was 1999... previously mentioned mountain had just over 1000cm of snow at one point (10 meters - approx.30 feet)

Tonight.....temps in the mid-30's F. Tomorrow's high will be 50* F and I'll be on the course! That's the good news.

The bad news is Tuesday's high will be 33* F and it will stay like that for at least a week. My golf season is coming to a close and will be officially over when snow falls and covers the ground. I'll play until then.

We're looking at the same thing as league...although my dad was mentioning that they had nearly a foot of snow in the snow belt just to the north of home this week. I'm sure that's gone now, but I'll be driving back toward it for this Thanksgiving break, and unless I get out tomorrow, my season is over. The bright side is that there *should* be snow for the first day of deer season next Monday, which along with the vast majority of leaves falling off in the winds we've had lately (oaks can hold them into January if not disturbed), creates optimal conditions.

Thanks Halk. Even though I have relatives in Florence (my mom was born there) I don't think I'll be seeing you any sooner than I'll be seeing them. However, I'll take your northern Alabama winter over mine anyday!

I cringe to think of what will be coming when a certain "green one" reads this thread tomorrow.

Do you REALLY want to know what our weather is gonna be like? Well, just to keep from "gloating", if you really want to know, click on the link below.

CAUTION: Those folks above 40 degrees latitude may want to avoid this link!

Sarasota, FL weather

P.S. I'll be at our hunting lease up in east central Georgia most of this coming week, so I won't be enjoying the nice golf weather! In fact, I hope it gets quite cold where I'll be, and that the deer get active! I've only got until Jan 15th to kill 12 deer! (I'll only take 3 at the most!)

Would you look at that...our golf forecast index is higher than yours tomorrow Inconsistent (a lovely 6)...I won't mention any of the days after that though. Just that if you sum up your numbers for each day, and then sum ours each day, divide yours by ours and you'll get.... .

I'm sure the deer will be overjoyed at your generosity!

A 12 deer limit? You didn't tell me you were fishing for them!

I'm playing tomorrow in sunshine and 50 degrees. You'll be swimming.

Naw, I'll be working! I can remember back when I was about 18 we went surfing on Thanksgiving and water-skiing at Christmas - without wetsuits.

I don't go to the beach much any more, cause the folks from the marine lab keep trying to push me back in the water.

Winter golf in Nashville

We're just north of Halk. We can generally play year round. Our group draws the line at 40*... and considers the wind. There's a very good course in the area that does something unique. From now thru mid March, the green fee is the temperature at tee time. During the summer, this is usually a $75 course. They sweeten the deal by offering half the temp after 1PM. We played the course several times last winter for $22 - $25. If we teed off at 1 PM, we had just enough light.

Well I'm about 20 miles south of Leaguegolf, facing the same situation. One of the Metropark courses has a low play-as-much-as-you-can rate and I'll be heading over there shortly and play till dark. The rest of the week looks bleak. There may not be any December golf around here this year.
