I'll second that -- don't eat too much of the "Big Bird" as my 5 year old boy calls the turkey.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving as well...we have a lot of things to be thankful for, and this is the time when I think we all need to step back and think about just how fortunate we are compared to many around the world.

Maybe you've seen this before:

A Thanksgiving Prayer
by Samuel F. Pugh

O God,

When I have food, help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work, help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home, help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain, help me to remember those who suffer.

And, remembering,
Help me to destroy my complacency,
Bestir my compassion,
And be concerned enough to help,
By word and deed,
Those who cry out for what we take for granted.

Amen.

That's a tough one to follow, JimSomebody.

It's that time again to reflect on the things in one's life that enrich it, whether those things are innate gifts; developed skills; personal accomplishments; the people who love us, like us, or are just nice to us; the material objects that make us comfortable or happy; and the games that amuse us--especially golf. And let's not forget to be thankful for the vision of victory that gave us all GolfRewind--and one another.

This prayer is so appropriate for me right now, and this Thanksgiving will definitely be a time of reflection for me. My life has changed so much the past couple months and some days it is quite a struggle to just get through without tears. So many things I took for granted are gone or radically different. There is great comfort that comes with helping others. I am most grateful for God's love and grace which sustains me. I am truly thankful for the love and support of family and friends, many that I've met here on GR.

I pray that everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!
