Other than TW200_, do any of you play video games regularly? I still go until midnight before I crash out. My small collection includes;
GTA3
GTA:Vice City
God of War
Star Wars: Battlefront 1 & 2
Hot Sots Golf FORE!
Metal Gear Solid, MGS2, MGS3
Final Fantasy VIII (I know, VII was better - if they remake it, I'll get it...)
So...have at it. Note if you play online, maybe we can play a "friendly" round sometime.
I'm more into strategy type games... Gettysburg/Panzer General/Close combat....mostly older, less graphic ones... Doom and those types make me nauseous....too mauch movement, altho that Band of Brother games looks too cool!
I love video games and play all the time. RPG's are my favorites, both on PS2 and GC. I like the Final Fantasy series, the Tales series, Legend of Zelda hmm Dark Cloud 1 and 2.. many more. PLayed FPS games and adventure games a lot in the past. But yeah gaming is awesome. Never played MGS but have heard good things about them.
I must admit I spend most of my X-box gaming playing TW06, but I do occasionally put on Pro Evolution Soccer 4, Burnout 3, Forza Motorsport and Brian Lara Cricket.
If it wasn't for the wife and kids and mistress(golf), I'd be a hardcore gaming nut. One that make me sick was the Aliens FPS on PS1. 20-30 minutes there and I was done. Final Fantasy VIII - I've never finished, but I've started it 3 times and logged over 100 hours each time. steffies, you should get MGS:SS - the PS1 game and play that one first (the stories and gameplay are awesome). How much do you guys play online?
I love all kinds and wish i had more time to play. I particularly like RPG's like Baldur's Gate, strategy, and shooters. I am hoping to get Call of Duty and Medal of Honor and a new graphics card for Christmas. I really enjoy learning and reading about WWII and I think these games should help satisfy my WWII interest.
I miss fragging people with the Quake rocket launcher. I used to play games quite a bit, but my PC is now 5 years old and probably wouldn't even play many of the new games.
I have a PS2, but mostly use it for watching DVD's since the DVD player in my HITB system isn't working. I bought God of War a few months ago and ended up playing it very little...same as the game before - Red Dead Revolver.
The screenshots and videos look impressive for Madden '06 for the 360, though. If I had money I would get an HDTV, a new HTIB and a 360 now.
I thought Asteroids and Centipede were tough enough! Today's games just throw me for a loop. I watch my son (16) play CounterStrike online for hours on end, or some other games that are similar. We don't have any console games (X-box, PSP, etc.) but he has his own computer that I put together for him last year. Of course, now he needs a new video card, so that may be his Christmas present.
We had a thread on video games here last year, so there are some gamers around. Gaz isn't here anymore though, and I know he was one of the others who responded. My favorite games are the Medal of Honor and Call of Duty series...both for the fun gameplay and historical context. I also enjoy the GTA series and Gran Turismo 3 and 4. Not to mention NCAA Football, March Madness, MVP Baseball, and other sports games.
i'm majoring in political science and minoring in video games. i play counter-strike: source on the net and same with warcraft III: the frozen throne. i'm more of a pc gamer but i occasionally play console games but they're mostly EA sports games like Madden. i've also played every Zelda game, i'm a big fan of nintendo rpg games
On my other computer I used to play lots of Diablo, Call of Duty, AOE 3, Final Fantasy XI...Except the fact that Im trying to get my motherboard back so I can continue to play these games cuz they are my favorites...
I just recently took my ps2 back out of my truck and hooked it up on my TV in the living room, I've been playing some of The Warriors(awesome!!), GTA:SA, FF:X-2...and then me and my roommate went half and half on an xbox and i've been playin some Madden and TW05, little bit of Splinter Cell too....obviously I have alot of time on my hands, only until the start of the spring semester...
ForeOnRoad: I highly recommend you play that God of War game. That is one of the best games I've ever played. I enjoyed the story and the puzzles, but mostly the soundtrack. I told my brother to get it, he ended up buying something else, so I let him borrow mine. I need to get that game back so I can play it on hard (God) mode...
dodge8604: I know a bit about the background for The Warriors, how does the game play? If you could put a review, I'd appreciate it. Does it control well?
skaghetti: What school do you go to that has a minor in video games? or was that a joke? I know a few schools have video game programming classes. Share the wealth. Of knowledge.
