Question Help With Chosing A Digital Camera

I've been toying up upgrading my digital camera for years and have decided to make the plunge. With all the options out there i thought maybe you guys (and gals) could help me make up my mind with a wise choice. I have been looking at canon a610s and a620s but thought i would ask if there is a camera in this price range that is a better choice. Any help you guys could give me would be appreciated.

You might want to check out some of the Fuji Finepic digital cameras. Also check out some of the user reviews at :

They usually give very good information about products.

If you want a digital SLR, then I would look at Nikon, Canon and Pentax in that order. Make sure it has a metal lens mount, as I have seen some with a plastic lens mount that would probably not hold up to constant lens changing. If all you need is a pocket sized camera, I really like my S-500 Canon. But you can find some nice models from Nikon and other manufacturers too. The only real complaint I have about the Canon is that it takes special, expensive rechargeable batteries. The best choice to is get a camera that uses the inexpensive rechargeable AA type batteries. You can get them them very cheaply. My Canon battery cost me $30. You can buy a pair of rechargeable AA batteries for $5.

If you want great pictures and don't want to go SLR I'd highly suggest the Olympus C-8080 8.0 mp. It won't fit in your pocket but if you want great quality prints that can easily be blown up to 8x10 you might want to take a look.

I'm not sure about your reasoning with the AA batteries, but when I selected my camera battery type was hardly a factor. Picture quality was my highest priority and the Olympus delivers. It is very easy to use and fits great in my hands.

This is my fifth digital camera and I'm very happy with it.

If you want something smaller you might want to look at the Kodak lineup.

I steer clear of Sony.
