i'm a current hotmail member where i get a whopping 2 megabytes worth of storage! today, they went me an e-mail telling me that i should upgrade to a paid account for more storage so that it doesn't get frozen if i go over the limit.
i can't wait to sign up for a gmail account. a gigabyte of e-mail is more than i'll ever need. i even read an article that google had given some people a terabyte of e-mail. that could back up my hard drive 50 times over!
well, the best way would be to make a new gmail account. then keep your hotmail but let everyone in your address book know of the e-mail address change. i would keep the hotmail account for a while so if any important e-mail gets there, you can change the address accordingly. then you can slowly phase the account out.
If you want a 1GB e-mail address now, you can actually get one at spymac.com. They are targeted towards Mac users but I believe anyone can get one. Yahoo! has just upped their mail limits to 100MB which should still be more than you really need. If you're a Google diehard, you can just wait for theirs to come out. It should be open to the public fairly soon.
I currently use Yahoo mail and like it much better then Hotmail, but by the looks of things Google mail will force both Yahoo and Hotmail to change or be left behind.....
I believe Yahoo! has upped their storage limit to 100MB which is still more storage than most people will ever need. I've had accounts with both and I've liked Yahoo! mail much better, too.
gmail is the bomb.. although i heard that google keeps track of ALL ur emails (even deleted ones)...and they like give it to the government or whatever for security
Now hopefully they fix there spam catcher so that there is no limit to what you can specify as spam. I get so much spam in my Hotmail account that I stopped using it...I get hardly any in my Yahoo.
