Immigration solution

Just take Mexico and make it our 51st State. Problem solved. Besides, it would make a great resort area and we could use more land to the south.

Uuummmmm, No Thanks! My immigration solution is to hire illegals to build a border wall. Of course, they will have to work on the mexican side of the wall so they will be on the outside when they are finished.

If you are thinking about complaining about imigration in the US then spend 6 months in the UK & see the problem we have.

Hang on wait a minute, I've a better Idea... I'll come there

Better idea. Make Ontario your 51st State. My wife and I have been trying for years to make it to the USA.

We went to the extent of almost buying a Toyota Dealership in Georgia in order to make the USA our home. The owner new we were sort of despirate and moved the price just a bit too high. We passed at the last moment.

Well, it takes longer to swim the Channel than the Rio Grande, but the UK does get a lot of immigrants! Mostly Middle Eastern/Asian I believe, just from things I've read. Not sure if they enter illegally like they do here, or if they enter the country legally and then refuse to leave! Hopefully one of our UK friends will enlighten us!

There probably is no ideal immigration solution. Countries with big economies generally NEED immigrants.

Here in the UK, with a generally aging population, it becomes harder and harder to fill service-type jobs, particularly in areas like cleaning, maintenance, increasingly also retail, etc. They are lower paying jobs that the native population views as at best undesirable and at worst beneath them. More and more they are filled by immigrants from all nations. People moan and moan about not enough police on the beat, not enough nurses, not enough teachers, and then encourage their kids to become management consultants.

Without a steady influx of foreign workers, the gap on funding public services, including pension provision, would be even more worrying.

I suspect that it is similar in the US, albeit with a very different welfare setup. The difficulty all economically advanced countries face is how to manage the problem of illegal immigration. It appears to be a no-win situation for policy makers.

Its the open door policy (not that they'd admit it) that the UK government seems to have. Where we seem to have become a dumping ground for all these new members to the European Union & every troubled state/country in the world.

Walk down any UK town centre & you might as well be in another country as the amount of forign accents & even languages is getting out of control & they are walking around like they own the bloomin place.

Lets just say I always vowed never to visit or stay in the US, but the more this goes on the more Brits are emigrating to Australia New Zealand Canada & the USA due to getting fed up with the UK governments open door policy putting a strain on the system. This is why our NHS now no longer works as it was designed, its why our pensions are not going to be enough & why there has been talk in the house of commons about making us all work till we're 70....

"Not bloody likely...!!!" is my attitude.

We've illigal imigrants that are sent to jail instead of deported & when they are released they are not deported... No they simply walk out the gate & disapear to commit yet more crime. I've never ever considered carrying any sort of weapon to protect myself, but am seriously considering carrying a blade, when out of the house. I actually keep an old display sword by my front door now.....just in case.

Thing is If I as a UK citisen wanted to Move to the USA or Australia, Canada & New Zealand, the restrictions are reidiculous... **** Great Britain used to Rule those countries & are in general made up of the decendants of UK citizens & in some cases UK convicts... very odd, that effectively as almost relitives like myself can't get into the USA without a lot of money & a really good qualification or more.

Actually, I do have relitives in Canada... but would I want to impose... erm...not sure.

And why **** do you think we need more teachers & Nurses & Police, its Police to chase after all these illigals who commit crimes & then disapear., Its Teachers to educate all these thes imagrants.

My sister is a Teacher & there is not a single child of British heritage in the school.

**** Why do you think we need all these nurses, its to look after all the family these immigrants bring with them, that are already of retirement age & their kids, loads & loads of kids. & they are growing very quickly & having families of their own.

Its a visious circle....

Nah I want out of my own country & I never thought I'd say it.

It's a good thing British natives don't commit crimes, otherwise the police would be completely overloaded...

It's not really technically speaking an immigration problem because if given the choice most of the aliens don't want to become US citizens. Why would they? They would have to start paying all those taxes the rest of us have to pay. They would be required to learn english...heaven forbid. They want to come here, make free money without any responsibility to our society.

I also believe that if given amnesty they would soon realize 'Hey, I don't have to work this hard for my little paycheck. I can get on the wonderful welfare system the US has set up and make more money by doing nothing.' You can bet your bottom dollar that is what will happen if they are made legal citizens.

IMO, I think they have to take away the reason they are coming here in the first place...jobs. I think they need to crack down on those employers that are hiring these guys. Big fines for any company hiring illegals. If you get rid of the demand, the supply will go away. I think?

I also don't buy the story that our economy will crumble if we get rid of them. Americans are pretty resourseful people....I think we can figure out how to cope without illegals. We might have to mow our own lawns for a while but that is better than the alternative .

It is pretty bad when you can't even go the Wendy's and order without knowing spanish. How many of you out there have them working at your local golf courses? The majority of the ones on my area do.

It's time to send them packing!!!

The USA is the nation it is because of immigration. It's success proves that, in general, immigrants arrive and work hard to better themselves, and do so legally.

I very much doubt that the statements you make above are actually true. They are your opinion, to which of course you are very much entitled.
