If you're looking for a show with drama that blows away Sopranos, 24, and Prison Break, tune into FX at 10:00 tonight! It's the start of Season 3, but I'm sure the recap at the beginning will be enough to give the first-timers a good sense of what has happened till now.
Set your Tivos and DVRs if it's on a bit too late, like it is for me and Mrs. Dormie!

HIGHLY recommended show!
Thank's for the reminder Dormie. I heard a promo driving to work this morning. I'm looking forward to it.

The morning sports radio show I listen to here, out of Boston, (WEEI's Dennis & Callahan) had Lenny Clark (Uncle Teddy) on talking about the show. As you know, Dennis Leary is a Boston local. Many stars and guests on the show are from the Boston area.
Lyndon Byers, x-Boston Bruin turned rock-radio host, played in the NYPD/FDNY hockey game in season 1 and/or 2. Also, I believe Cam Neely was on the FDNY team as a crazy goon!
Well, it was an EXCELLENT season opener. Hopefully a bunch of you were able to catch it! Either way, I am going to write about most episodes anyway, it makes me feel better!
A couple of observations from the first episode...
Of course the dramatic high point was seeing Tommy's X sleeping with Tommy's brother. This will make for an interesting run of shows while Tommy tries to figure out who she's dating/seeing/sleeping with. Not to mention all of the help that his brother provides. We'll all be screaming at the screen now for Tommy not to trust him. At first, Mrs. Dormie and I thought it was a fireman, but then we decided that none of those dudes would dare...
ALTHOUGH, you've got Shawn 'spending time' with Tommy's sister. But I don't think this will go too far. One of the other firefighters will find out and they will convince Shawn to get out of that one.
It looks like Lou will have a rough season trying to battle through the con that he fell into with the prostitute. I wonder if he will pursue finding out who she was and getting his money back.
I can't wait to see what happens with Tommy and his Godson's teacher. Somewhat unrealistic for a young teach THAT HOT to be having a 'relationship' with the student. But I guess the crazy ones come in all shapes and sizes...
And did Tommy saves that child at the end or not???
I only watched parts, dormie. I was caught up in the Piston & Tiger games. What I saw looked good. I'll catch it this week for sure.
Pretty strange Tigers/Sox series this weekend.
Dramatic HR from Youkilis on Friday night where I figured that game was lost.
Tigers take game 2 when Sox middle relief was a joke.
Sundays game gets out of hand when Det reliever walks in 3 guys in a row.
Dramatic HR from Youkilis on Friday night where I figured that game was lost.
Yes, Friday was a very "special" sports night around here. First the Pistons get trounced and booted from the playoffs by the Heat , then Jones gives up a 9th inning, 2-out, 2-run shot to ?? Youkilis ?? to turn a win into a loss.
I'm always 1 day behind on my Rescue Me posts. Or any other show that starts past 9:00pm! So you'll have to bear with me. Thank goodness they invented DVR. I know, I'm lame. Only 30 years old and bedtime is 9:30 AT THE LATEST...
Anyway, of course the big moment tonight was Tommy figuring out that Janet was seeing his brother and his subsequent reaction. IMO, it was a bit over-the-top. I understand that this show is the 'Dennis Leary Show' at times, but the beating he administered was a bit much. Don't get me wrong, I love the show, but for some reason I was very uncomfortable with that whole scene. For a minute, once he saw the hand-holding under the table, I thought he may hold off on the beating for that night and plan a more strategic revengeful plot.
Part of me thinks that this will be the main plot for the whole season. Maybe this assault on the brother has ramifications on Tommy such as being suspended from the FD, possibly jailed, back on the drinking, etc.
One would think that Shawn would cut things off with Tommy's sister after seeing that. Although, he is probably foolish enough to continue to try and hide it. It looked like Tommy may have picked something up when Shawn took the cherry out of her drink. Tommy would likely know that she 'doesn't like fruit in her drinks'.
Not sure where the Susan Sorandon (sp?) plot with Franco is going. Even though she is one of my least favorite people it will be interesting to see where it goes...
Things continue to get worse for Lou. Chief is asking him for money that he doesn't have so he attempts to break in to his x-wive's house. Then he tells his buddy that he doesn't understand why he needs to go on. A close eye will need to be kept on him.
