I just saw an interview with Ben Stiller. After Meet the Parents came out, I heard him say Meet the Parents 2 was in the works but that was over a year ago. I was beginning to wonder if it would ever come out but apparently, it's in the works. Dustin Hoffman and I think Barbara Streisand are going to be his parents with all of the original cast from the first movie united.

That should be a great movie, but I'm always worried that the sequel will not live up to the original. The first one was a genuine laugh riot. As funny as Stiller was, I think the real star was DeNiro and his portrayal of the girl's father.

valeogut, I totally agree. The first one was great and DeNiro played the role to perfection. It's my favorite Ben Stiller movie because I thought it was funny in a real way. Some of DeNiro's facial expressions were enough to make me laugh uncontrollably. It's definitely a seldom event when the sequel lives up to the original but Shrek 2 has me hoping that Meet the Parents 2 won't dissappoint whenever it comes out.

Throw in another good vote here for the first movie - that was hilarious! I loved the pool scene where BenStiller was getting chewed out for screwing up the watervolleyball game, then DRILLS the fiancee right in the nose!

The first movie was great. That dinner scene was priceless.
