Apparently, any form of golf is addicting. Finding it hard to resist playing it constantly.... But here are a couple of thoughts I had.
1) I've actually never played a real putt-putt/miniature golf course. This game got me wondering - can you actually learn to putt at one of those courses? I mean, in terms of gauging distance, how hard to hit the putt, etc.?
2) Is the reason that many folks thought the U.S. Open last weekend was unfair is because it resembled miniature golf?! I mean, playing the arcade game, now I know what it must have felt like to continuously watch your putts roll back past you....
To answer your first question, I have seen news stories on people who own mini golf courses and a lot of them are able to get 18 on them. Of course, every miniature golf course is different but I think most of them are set up so you can get a hole in one on every hole. I think I've even seen mini golf on ESPN2 where they play for thousands of dollars. You CAN learn to play them well. The trick is knowing the spots to hit the ball at.
I used to watch PPA matches on Sat morning tv and I've played plenty of Putt-Putt (official courses) and other mini-golf layouts. At the true Putt-Putt courses the holes are designed to be aced. The pros are really good but I don't think they're shootin' 18 Most of em have silky putting strokes but readin' those "greens" is a little different than the real thing.

Yeah, I know a pro couldn't go to a random mini golf course and make 18 but the one story I saw was about an owner of a mini golf course. He's probably played the course thousands of time. They also had an article about his son who couldn't have been older than ten. I think he's come close but wasn't able to do it yet.
I saw the putt putt championship on ESPN2 a while back as well....gotta say those guy's are crazy. The guy that won made almost every putt he looked at...bouncing off walls, going through small openings...then he said after that it was his first time on that track! That's when I realized my dream of becoming a putt putt tour player would probably go unfulfilled, lol.

If there's ever a Golf Rewind Arcade Mini Putt tour, I'm sure you'll be a force to be reckoned with. I'm still trying to break 150! Of course, I did beat you in the challenge. Maybe one day, I'll try to have a 16 player (or more) challenge tournament.
Putt-Putt golf is easy.....bang it off the rail, roll it over the bridge, go between the windmill blades, scoot it off the slope and get it to three feet. Nothing to it. It's just missing those straight in three footers that kill the game for me!

The thing about missing those 3 footers is the next thing you know it, the ball may roll back to the beginning of the hole. I've had that happen to me a few times.
