Did I miss something? Aren't we supposed to talk about non golf related topics?

I think the moderator who closed the thread said this forum is for talking about golf, not for talking about other golf forums.

But maybe we should address this issue in public in the interest of enlightening the membership. You're right, the lounge is for practically any subject, including golf, with caveats...we generally avoid certain topics such as religion, sex, politics, etc. for obvious reasons - this is a family friendly forum and those topics almost always invite conflict, flaming, name-calling, vulgarity, etc. so, while discussion of those topics is not strictly taboo here, we are very touchy and careful about it and ask that members be aware of that before starting a potentially volatile thread. That has nothing to do with why I closed the thread in question.

This does not appear to be a discussion about the Golf Channel DB, does it? Why in the world would you join a discussion board like ours only to discuss how to join another golf discussion board? (can you say "gauche"?) Not only do we discourage promoting other golf boards we also discourage panning them as well...we wouldn't appreciate disgruntled members here going somewhere else and bad-mouthing us so, for the most part, we don't allow that sort of behavior...if someone like you joins our board because he/she became disenchanted with another it's ok to say so but there's little point, imo, in taking it any further. And I can't see any legitimate reason to discuss pending membership in another board here. Again, many of our members came here from other boards...some have stayed, many have moved on to other boards...every board has its own personality so different strokes for different folks. We hope you enjoy your stay here, o_g.
