Gustav is taking aim for SW La and Hannah for So Fl. Here in lower Al we are having to expect the worst and prepare. Either of these storms could hit us. I'm hoping Gustav stays to the west because it looks like a doozy, though I don't wish any ill will on our La neighbors. Every one stay alert along the coast because they could hit anywhere. With the current track, Hannah could make landfall along the Gulf Coast in the same location as Gustav. Hurricane party anyone?
Just had a call from one of my buds inviting me to play in a home and home match starting at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow. Hope we can get the round in as local radar shows the outer bands coming to Pensacola. A large thunderstorm is moving west from Ft. Walton Beach and should be here within an hour or two. I'm with you on wishes of a westward track for Gustav. May he hit an unpopulated area of Texas, spare the oil refineries and relieve the drought in north Georgia in a few days. Not sure I have the chips to get all of that prayer answered. Haven't gotten around to Hannah, but she'll probably flare up at us, also. Still get a cold feeling when I meet anyone named Ivan or Dennis. If you're in the path, take care.
Keep an eye on Hanna because it is on track for NW Florida if it stays on course. After it crosses the penninsula the Gulf will likely help build it back up. They have been changing the track on this one, so who knows?
Pensacola here. The first heavy rain bands arrived about 7:45 p.m. Going to the front porch now to watch the deluge. Hope Louisiana makes it through okay.
