right now they have curling on espn2. you know that "sport" they have in the winter olympics which is kind of like shuffleboard on ice. i have to say i find it fairly entertaining. :D
lol, i thought i was the only person who enjoyed watching it. actually, during the internet, i went on google and searched for local curling clubs in my area and there are actually quite a few. if you're REALLY interested in curling, you may want to check if they have any in your area.
i guess these sports channels are really branching off to find sports to broadcast. personally, i never find watching pool entertaining but these shows seem to always be on espn. then they have poker which i don't consider a sport but i'll admit, i find this very interesting to watch.
curling is an excellent sport, I enjoy playing and watching it a lot. As far as the people that dont consider it a sport, if your on one side of a sheet of ice, and you need to throw a rock down all the way to the other end and hit another rock precisly inorder to knock a few stones out, or just get them out of the way it gets pretty nerve wracking... cant say I know many sports with more pressure... It might feel something like a 15 foot putt to send a local golf tournament into a tie breaker... if you miss you go home :)
I was up skiing in Canada a couple of years ago and one night we all went out curling. It was a blast, spent more time trying to chase the rock instead of doing the cool sweeping thing they do on t.v. Another thing they don't show you, is how to stop. Once I got my butt sliding down the lane, it wasn't uncommon to end up running into the other stones or crashing at the end. Good times.
Curling, ok I've seen it (back when they used real brooms, not those little push brooms they use now) and I guess you have to be North of the US/Canada border to really get into it. Canadians have such a short golf season that they had to find something to amuse themselves. If you mention "Rolling Rocks on Ice" around here you get a cold beer....not a broom!
