I don't know what you did....but I'd say, "Gee Dear, I was reminded by the nice today that the sticker and plates on your car have expired. May I have an advance on my allowance to cover the fines?"
I'd be steamed but now I'd have a powerful IOU for when I wanted to play that round with the guys when she had other plans for me.

LOL, but she plays golf too! .
Actually, she is my best buddy, just don't tell her I said that. . I'll have to take care of the plates and sticker tomorrow, before I head back to Houston. Just thought you guys might have some similar experiences with the better half.
In my abode, I take care of the cars, she takes care of the inside stuff. Expired tags, well I would have to point the finger back at me. I probably have geeked up more of her kitchen stuff than any damage she could have done to our cars. I have melted teflon stuff, used steel wool to clean some pan that is now a dog dish, but my crown jewell is I some how killed her mix master. $300 later for a new one and I was still in the dog house.
My wife has done the same thing. Take my advice and don't say anything. Just get the car inspected and renew the license and have the oil changed. Women just don't care about automobile maintenance and never will. It's fruitless--and not particularly manly--to nag.
Keith's arrangement sounds reasonable and ideal if the better half is willing to take care of everything but the cars! Way to go, Keith! Not likely in my house.

Guess what? She just informed me this morning that her oil needs changing.
My wife doesn't even notice what I have in my bag. If I get rid of the old stuff, she never knows that I bought new clubs, shoes, bags, whatever. The only thing that gets me in trouble is when I start to accumulate equipment and she finds it. Then I'm in trouble.
Take my advice and trade in, sell, or throw away your old stuff. Maybe your better half won't notice that new driver.

Valeogut - absolutely agree - some things are better left unsaid.

LOL, I wish! My wife is a golfer too, and very knowledgeable about equipment. She is a Ping freak. Anyway she enjoys my collection as much as I do.
If youall dont mind a weekend duffer buttin' in here, I think this is a fun topic.
I use this site sometimes to click to when the wife is in earshot/eyesight. She would rather find me pecking away here with other golf nuts than see me scouring ebay for clubs (then finding them at our doorstep when she gets home before me). On that, when she does find that I have new golf stuff, I always try to pick up something for her also that will either help her game or that she will find fun (golf related). Lately though I may have to get her new clubs, bag and clothes.
On the cars around here, it's my job regardless of who drives what. That leaves her with things like groceries and kid's clothes, etc (which I haven't much of a clue about anyway).
