We had it when I was your age, it was called the draft. The commercials don't lie, the military is a good place to start and an excellent place to grow up, i.e. mature and learn discipline.

Yeah forged I knoew it was the draft just meant did anyone know he wanted to reinstate it. I also know the military is a great place to grow up except I dont know If I would make the Physical req. mainly because im only 14 and the docters said Im going to need knee surgery before im 17. I can hardly play a round of golf before my knees go out, imagine what would happen in the military. Of course I could alwase get a desk job.

14,
It is already reinacted, has been for several years. When you turn 18 you have to register, male and female alike. This is not something new, but if the President wants to reinact the draft that would be different. Registering now tells the draft board who you are and where you are at for a later date. You have four years to go, make your grades and go to college. If the draft is reinacted they have exemptions for kids in college, as long as you have the grades.

P.S Just so you know, I did my time, but was not drafted. The draft was put on hold during the spring of 1973. I volunteered, it was the best thing I ever did, I needed boot camp just to grow up.
