NBA draft...

i've kind of lost hope with the bulls. this year was supposed to be the year they returned to the playoffs but jayson williams goes ahead and decides to go riding in a motorcycle and the babybulls chose not to develop further. with the expectations for the cubs so high (yet so low), the nba is kind of on the backburner but after the bulls got the 3rd pick, i guess i'm a little interested. if only lebron, darko and carmelo were in this year's draft. the clippers could take darko at #2 and the bulls could have melo.

enough wishful thinking. anyway, what are all of your draft thoughts? who do you think will go #1? who will be this year's early entrant who should have stayed in school?

This year's draft lookings pretty weak. It looks like either Emeka Okafor or Dwight Howard are going to be taken with the first pick. It just depends on whether someone wants a proven player who will likely be a steady NBA player (albeit with some back problems) or potential. The pluses of Okafor is also that he will probably make more of an immediate impact. At the same time, the NBA is all about potential these days and for a team to contend for the title, they need superstars.

Since you're a Chicago fan, who do you want them to pick with the 3rd pick? Luol Deng should be at that spot. Then there's Shaun Livingston who I hear will be a great point guard and is a local to Illinois. Do you think the Bulls will take yet another high school player?

Why even talk about this year's draft? There's no Shaq/Jordan/Lebron/Carmelo type of player that will be able to bring a lottery team into a championship contender. Might as well quit paying attention and write next season off already.

Lakers all the way!

Dwight Howard will emerge as the best talent in this draft. He's a monster.

I haven't seen Dwight Howard play at all. He seemed to be the early favorite for the #1 pick in the draft until Okafar led UConn to the championship. What kind of game does Howard have? Which NBA player does it compare to?
