I'm a meteorologist with the US Air Force out of Shaw AFB. I produce and disseminate weather products for SW Asia (Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, U.A.E, Iraq, Kuwait, and a good portion of the 'stans.). Not a bad gig honestly, besides the 12 hour shifts. 4 computer monitors at my disposal whenever Im not working, makes web browsing easy.
I work as a Mechanical Engineer for a small Engineering Company in Birmingham, Alabama we provided Engineering and Equipment to the Pulp and Paper Industries. We design and build material handling equipment to move the paper after it comes of the paper machine and is sent to the warehouse. All our design is done on computers and we all have access to the internet so during the day I get chance to slip off to take a look at GR.
I'm lead database administrator for a large municipality, responsible for database creations, upgrades, capacity planning, performance tuning, backups, etc..... I'm on call 24/7 but have a flexible on-site schedule that allows me the time to get out before the leagues start during the week... as finances and my wife permit. Oh & I'm on-line all day doing research, problem resolution, etc. so I'm able to keep a session open for GR during work hours and at home as my daughter & son permit.
I sell drugs, supplies and equipment to veterinarians. Tough job - drive around beautiful Western Pa, play with adorable animals in clinic after clinic, socialize with Docs & Techs, and go on to the next call! Sure beats my previous incarnation in property & casualty insurance.
Best part - make my own schedule, so stopping to hit some balls on a range that appears on the horizon or arranging for an early morning or late afternoon round was never a problem.......right up til the idiot female hit me in the rear and injured my neck and back. Hoping to be able to indulge my favorite pastime again by June!
My occupation? Student, [web] entrepreneur. Not really making money right now, aside from the odd job for people who need things done... usually system administration, small programs (mostly web applications), database admin, installation/configuration services, web design, a few things here and there. I spend the bulk of my free time either playing golf or being on the computer, so you're sure to find me here most of the day (when I'm not at school).
Good luck trying to cope with life without a high school diploma, taytaymade. Next thing you know, though, you'll be right around the corner from graduating college and wonder where all the "best years of your life" went.
Wow, looks like we have quite the array of talented and successfull individuals on here! Me personally, I'm a college student.
I am a heavy machinery operator for a airplane company in Seattle. Cranes, tractors, mobile equipment, I drive it. Funny thing is, this is no where near what I went to college for, but the pay is a lot better.

Oh man, don't even start. "The best years of my life"? Hahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Note the quotes robert...I don't have the slightest clue when the best years of my life will be. They may have already passed, or they may be in the future. Seems like most adults consider their late teens/early 20s as the best, which certainly creates a lot of despair in those who aren't having a good time and wonder if that's as good as it gets...

See? Just another reason why the Ygers have no chance in our match. They can't see the forest for the trees (which they'll probably be in most of the time anyway!)
Hmmmmm.... hard question, I'ld say my prizes I win from golf pay for my golf.
I usually sell most of the stuff I win, cos I don't really need a BBQ, wooden chest, outdoor furniture and vouchers.
I also make up the Newsletters for my golf club.
Oh, and the clubs website I'm creating right now, and I do the scoring in Tournaments.
Hehehe.... it's great not having a proper job.
All that stuff I do at the moment pays for everything(like tournament entries, golf clubs, balls, clothes, cell phone txts and calls etc..) with a bit left over to go in the bank.
Let's see...I'm a plastic surgeon finishing up residency at Stanford...(poor for the time being until I finish up in 6 mos. - light at the end of the tunnel). Looking for jobs in the southern CA area (need year round golf weather right?)
"best years of my life"....so far early/mid 20's for sure...
