Course:Virginia Beach National (This was formerly the TPC of Virginia Beach)
Date/Time Played: 6/17/07 Tee Time was 8:36am
Club House and Staff:
My foursome arrived early, and took advantage of the range to warm up. The bag drop guys were nice, courtious, and pleasant. Club house here is awesome, beautiful and full of nice, funny, helpful people willing to go the extra mile to make golf great for you. This course is now being run by the staff from Heron's Ridge, and they are top notch folks. Glenn Pierce is managing both courses, and is a friend of a friend. Breakfast sandwich was top notch and the cart girl very nice on the eyes and fast with the full bar!
The Course:
The course has been baked by about 3 weeks without rain, but was in very good shape. It has taking a step down, from the TPC conditions, but not far. The course is TOUGH, the greens have all elevation changes, waist bunkers are all over the course, water comes into to play, shot making is a must, and be prepared to use every club in the bag. Kind of links like with scrub off the fairways. This course is meant to punish you if you stray too far from the fairways(not good for my game!) Enjoyable for sure, I liked playing a course way over my skill level, I am not a great golfer, but I like the challenge. It was a little brown, and the greens were aeirated a few days prior, but they were still in pretty good shape.

Finial Thoughts:
All and all, this was a great day of golf, on a course that once was a TPC. Price wise, prime time weekend went from 135.00 to 62.00, so that was great. A very small step down in conditions, but what a course. Bring a full bag of clubs and all your shot making skills. I rate this course a 8.5 out of 10.
