CHEAP Courses in/near Richmond, VA?

I'm hoping a few of you GR'ers can give me some courses in and around the Richmond, Virginia area. My main focus is PRICE. I don't care what the condition is, just need the lowest greens fees in the area. My sister-in-law wants to start playing, and is an absolute beginner.

So far I know about Belmont and The Hollows. Any others I can pass along to her?

John,

Thanks for the tip, the Hollows is actually where we ended up playing that weekend. Definately what we were looking for, it was less than $70 for three riding 9 holes, almost empty, and a decently interesting layout. Fairways weren't very well maintained, but the greens were in great shape. All of us agreed it was worth the 25 minute drive and will be returning to get out on the other courses.

If your friend has any other suggestions, please pass them along!

Re: CHEAP Courses in/near Richmond, VA?

I just played 9 at Providence with a cart for $24 this afternoon. Course in very good condition.
First Tee in Chesterfield County has a very nice course with good rates.
Mill Quarter in Powhatan has afternoon play for $32 on 18 holes. Very good condition, long.
Pendelton is a bit of a drive north of the city but has specials during the week and sometimes on weekends. Current special is weekday 18 holes, $30 with cart. Course is long and in very good condition.
Those are a few I know of. Search VirginiaGolf Homepage to find all the courses in the area.
