I bought Scotty's Red X putter when it was first released...I continue to use it and... it is by far the best putter I have ever used.
For several years I played a Ping Anser & then a Ping Darby (mallet head).
The Red X keeps the ball on line...has a great look at set-up...the ball comes off soft with top spin...and most importantly it's weight is perfectly balanced in order to help give you a true pendulum stroke!
used to play with a few of the older ping ansers and the old odyssey rossie II. have used 2 scotty's since then and my opinions are different depending on what kind of scotty it is. overall i would recommend the scotty line but i think it's important to find the right one for you. i really like the studio style but was disappointed with the pro platinum
i bought the scotty cameron red x when it first came out and i cant say enough about it...its the greatest putter i have ever rolled and i will be keeping it as long as im playing golf...it completely changed my putting! many people say that mallet putters arent good on fast greens..doesnt matter with this putter..u can roll this on anything...great feel...great grip....you just have to try it out
I have a Scotty Studio 2.5 at 34" that I bought used last week. It sets up real nice for me and has a really great feel which I really like. It has some pitting going on around the putter head which tells me that either the first owner had it sitting in a humid place or it requires frequent rubbing down with an oily rag.
I have a Circa 62 #3. Greatest Scotty I have owned so far. My only gripe is that I could not get it in a 34" so I had to cut it down. The "Steering wheel style" grip had also been streched so the logo looked twisted.
With that being said I would still have given $500 for it, they are that good. I am somwhat of a club junkie expecially putters. I have tried them all and the Scotty is in my bag!

I have been using the J.A.T. prototype for 5 years now rolls well and the sightlines are great, can really see the line well, always liked a blade 8802 type this gives me the best of both ...in fact looks like Phil is using the Odyssey version with insert
The Detour putter is really awesome. It helps me visually line up the putt so much better than the Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 I own. I thought nothing would surpass the feel of the Newport for me, but this one is doing it big time. I hole out every 3-5ft putt and within 10ft is 90-95% at least. The alignment of this putter is so easy with the t-shape. I'm right-handed and putts straight in or that break right to left are sinking easy. The only problem I have with the putter is the left to right breaking putts. The reason is the curved line. When you take the putter back the curve flows naturally for a right to left putt, on the left to right putts it seems a little awkward at first. But, on those left to right breaks, I haven't been on the low side of the cup which is a good thing. It's kept my alignment on the high side of the cup and will give those a chance to go in and probably lowering my scores more. Great putter Scotty!
