Thank You from Solid Rock Golf and the Kids!!!

As many of you know last month I asked if anyone could donate any extra clubs they had laying around for less fortunate kids. Well the reponse was great and it was awsome to see everyone that had something to donate step forward to help these kids out. All I needed was 5 full sets of clubs and what I got was enough to make 10 total sets, donated money, golf shoes, free golf lessons, and 250+ golf balls (new and slightly used).

I can't say enough about this community of guys/girls on these forums. I wanted to get a picture of all the kids with clubs but I haven't been able to get them together as of yet. I am glad to say that many parents may have found a sport that actually got their kids attention as well as theirs. They also found it very hard to believe that I asked for help on "internet forums" and got a return like this... I never found it hard to believe..

With the remaining sets that I have left... I have cut them down and regripped them and will be donating them to the local Middle School for future use.

I would like to say Thank You to everyone on here for all their support of friends (family) whether it be helping the kids or being there for a fellow member. Its great to be a part of it as well....

A special Thank You goes out to...
Rex from East Moline, IL
Robert from Modesto, CA
Jon from Roselle, IL
Marianne from Caledonia, MN
Steve from Coal Valley, IL
Chad from Las Vegas, NV
RedC from FGI
Gary from Taunton, MA - Garygolf
John from Boonton, NJ
Rick from Charlotte, NC
Scott Locastro at Golf-Fanatic.com from Charlotte, NC
Jose from Wethersfield, CT
Steve from Carmel, IN - Coachsb
Doc Green from Foxboro, MA GD member

Some I knew who they were when all the packages came in and some I didn't so I posted who it was addressed from. I tried to make sure I got them all but if I missed one PLEASE let me know and I will correct it.

Again THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Thank You from Solid Rock Golf and the Kids!!!

Not at this time I don't. I had such a great reponse that evey kid I had on my mind was taken care of and others were helped as well.

I may end up doing something like this again down the road (in a few years) since it was well received on both ends.

Thanks for caring!!! It really means alot to see others care for the less fortunate.

Do you have any idea what I can do with the clubs? I would like to donate them to some kids who need clubs, but can't afford them.

Thanks!

Re: Thank You from Solid Rock Golf and the Kids!!!

You can look around at your driving range if you visit it frequently to see if there's a kid in need or you can check to see if there is a First Tee Program in your area which usually takes in donated clubs. Lastly you can donate them to your local Middle School for the kids wanting to play golf but don't have the money to help out.

If none of these work out then I would be glad to have you send them to me for future donations.
