Myrtle Beach schedule

Going down for two weeks starting on the 20th. Here is the lineup.

8/22 Myrtle Beach National South Creek
8/24 Myrtle Beach National West
8/26 Abeerden
8/28 Willbrook Plantation
8/30 Litchfield C.C
9/1 To be determined

I was able to get a nice deal playing the first first four days and then the fifth for free.

Couple of possibilites for the sixth day.

The Witch
River's Edge
World Tour: Expensive but from what I have heard is a must play.

Any thoughts for the sixth day ?

caladonia and True Blue are must plays.

You will find that at this time of the year most clubs offer the second 18 for free or at a very reduced price. Just pay for the cart.

Another course that I just love the layout of is Arcadian Shores. A rees Dye layout. It is an older course and sometimes the condition can be so so but any time we are in M.B. we will play it.

The Witch is a bit of a drive. Off the beaten path but I like that course.

Hated World Tour.

We always stay in North Myrtle and it seems by the courses you're playing you're staying more south. But if you don't mind the drive go play Tidewater. SOme of the best views I've every seen on a golf course. Its expensive though, but the views are worth it. When I played it a month ago the course was average condition, nothing great though.

Many good courses there to play.......

Barefoot......3 courses to choose from.... all great.
Legends......3 courses there also......great also.

Actually we are staying in North Myrtle. Always do, love it and hate leaving it. My folks are selling their house here in Jersey and moving down there. (They have a condo there) Basically when we have gone in the past we would play the one's in that area. (Azalea Sands, Eagle's Nest, Long Bay etc).
This year with the package we got we are getting the chance to play some of the better courses.

Tidewater is one that I really do want to play and may this year. Might be a little too pricey though. One though that I really should play.

You might want to try farmstead in Shalotte, NC, there are no bad golf courses up there, Heather Glen and Glen Dornach are great. Just jump on highway 17 and play all courses towards NC, skip Eastport. Lockwood Folly is awesome too, but extremely hard. Enjoy your vacation!

You may be surprized. Golf is cheap in Myrtle in the summer. Lots of 2 for 1's.

Ohh. I thought you were probably staying south by some of the courses. Maybe I'm mistaken where they are at though? We always stay in Cherry Grove section every year and love it there as well and would love to move there myself.

Have fun.

Can't agree more on the recommendations for Heather Glen and Glen Dornoch. Both are excellent. Our group really enjoys Tigers Eye. We had never played a course 2 years in a row, but everyone voted to play it again.
We are playing Rivers Edge Golf club this year (can't wait!), also have Glen Dornoch back on the rotation, along w/ Tidewater, and The Heritage Club. Should be a good trip....

...and for those of you that are die-hard golfers and have never made the trip to Myrtle Beach.....DO IT!!! It is golfing paradise.....great courses/great rates....our 4 days of golf, 4 nites at the resort cost is $290 + cart fees daily ($20-25)......for those 4 courses we are playing, that is a steal. Just played a couple of courses in Destin, Fl at almost $100 a pop...ouch....and not nearly as nice...

What alot of fun !!!!!

I did play Thistle as Mitchalo recommended and it was a fantastic course. If you can go play it. They still had the pin placements from the Dupont in place which made it even tougher.

Thistle was probably the best, Abeerden was the worst. I can't even count how many balls I lost in the rough. (The only way I was able to find them was by stepping on them). I should have remembered that from last year.

Litchfield and Willbrook were nice shot decently there.

Funny story time.

I made these reservations in mid-july. We were paired with these two guys from Chicago at Willbrook when we played there on Sunday. Tuesday we drive back down and play Litchfield and we end up paired with the same two guys !!!! We had a great time with them.

Myrtle Beach National was nice for the first two rounds. West was more wide open then South Creek.

Still though could not break 100. Best I could hit was 108 on MBN West. Great time and can't wait for next year

I went down in July. If your still up in the air give Kings North at MBN a try . If you want something not soo pricey look at Wild Wing (Avocet). I think next time we go I may try to hit the World Tour and Wicked Stick. I heard that it takes a long time to play World tour because of people taking so many pics etc.
