Planning a trip to Myrtle Beach with my wife for the early part of April '06. Was wondering if anyone has played any of these courses. They are the ones being suggested to us and I wanted some feedback...
Indigo Creek
Wedgefield Plantation
Heron Point
Diamond Back
They all have websites and they look like alright. Was hoping for a more links style course, but being a rookie it's probably not a good idea as the course would eat me alive. : (

I played Indigo Creek this past May. My step-daughter will serve you libation if it's on a weekend. It's a fairly nice track and not as difficult as some of other MB courses. I also played it on a lousy (weather) day...rainy and windy. But, it was golf.
There's a couple of challenging par 3's that come to mind...all carry or get wet. I think you'd enjoy the course.

Indigo Creek, Diamond Back and Heron Point are all above average good courses, they are not premium courses but they are also not bad courses. I would not play Wedgefield, yes there are new Wedgefield owners that are trying bring it back up to par, but I would strongly suggest not going to Wedgefield for a few years. Good courses to look at would be the Myrtle Beach National courses, Wild Wing, Legends, Witch, Wizard. It all depends on your budget. April is also peak season in Myrtle Beach.
courses are changing there as we speak.... many sold...many for sale(new ones,too)... some being up-graded. it appears as tho several huge corps own most of the courses, and weed out the non-$$ makers yearly...... Sea Gull is being up-graded to a longer course.... We've vacation @ yr below MB...Pawleys area...great courses!
I just played Man O' War, it was a fun course, especially for the $$. It's right beside The Wizard so it would be easy to get 36 in at two different courses.
