Ok guys, I have never been to Myrtle Beach but I am FINALLY going in March, thanks to a friend's bachelor party!
For those of you that have been...
Your homework assignment:
I need to know what courses you've played that you recommend. I have NO idea and every course says their's is the best.
Any help will be great!
You really ought to communicate directly with EDSGolf...he IS Myrtle Beach. I've played several courses there, but he knows more than all of us combined.

agreed.
I've played The Wizard and Man O' War there, and they are both great courses for the $$
I've played a bunch of them. The top ten are Dunes Golf & beach Club, The Reserve at Litchfield, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, Wachesaw Planatation, Grande Dunes, True Blue Plantation, TPC of Myrtle Beach, Kings North, Love Course at Barefoot Resort. Also good are Pawley's Plantation, Fazio and Dye Course at Barefoot, World Tour, all of the 3 Legends Courses, Pine Lakes, Heritage Club. Most are $$$. Good for the money imo are Pine Lakes and the Legends Courses. Have fun. Good food at Carrabba's and the Parsons up North Myrtle.
You are correct, there are over 100 golf courses to choose from. In order to give you some good recommendations, I'll need to know a few things:
- where are you staying in Myrtle Beach, if you're staying in Calabash, no use suggesting courses like Caledonia located in the South, etc.
- what is your budget, if you guys are going to be in Myrtle Beach for a few days to party and have a budget of $200 total, well I won't suggest a Barefoot course as that course alone will cost you $170.
If your group has already booked their golf package, send me the courses and I'll give you an honest opinion about them.....always make sure your golf package includes carts, surcharges and ALL taxes. If you haven't booked your golf package, well you send me the details and I can make some package suggestions/recommendations for your group.
I've played just about every one there in North Myrtle. Legends courses, barefoot landing courses, tidewater, tiger's eye, are some of the better ones there in North Myrtle.
Myrtlewood Golf Villas are one of the most popular villas in Myrtle Beach, you'll definitely like them, especially since they are centrally located near the Beach and right next to Broadway at the Beach.....this is where the Bachelor Party can go and well......Party.....there are several bars and lots of nightlife there. Here are courses that are fairly nearby Myrtlewood Golf Villas and broken down into 3 categories:
Regular courses (still very good decent courses):
Myrtlewood Palmetto, Pine Lakes International, Wizard, Man O'War, Indian Wells.
Thanks for the list. I just checked out your site for a bit too! I am pumped to finally get to go to MB. For the past 4 springs I have been trying to put something together but none of my friends wanted to commit.

Another suggestion, while it may be pricey is Tidewater. The views on number 7 I think will really amaze you. A great course but it will probably cost you around 100$. I have to recommend, if they are open (they close for the winter, i'm not sure when you are going) try Painter's Ice Cream, the best ice cream on earth. There are also two great golf shops also on HWY 17 to shop at: Martin's PGA superstore and Golf Dimension's will both give you some great deals. Hope this helped a bit, i'm sure you'll have fun.
We went down last year and played Kings North and Wild Wing (avocet). Kings North was alot nicer than Wild Wing but you can't really go wrong wherever you go. This year I am going to try to hit the World Tour for sure and a few more that I havent narrowed down yet.
