I've heard others say Grand Dunes is very nice, and at 8000 yards, thats a monster. A couple guys that play with us each year are from Kentucky. Those guys are some of the nicest people I've ever met. You guys are all right down there!
Yeah, Kentuckians are okay. I don't claim this state as my own. I'm still a Buckeye at heart. (Lived there till I was 18) If you're in Southern Cali, wouldn't we be "up there"?
Yeah, needless to say we didn't play the 8000 yard markers. We played two tee markers in front of the back tees and the darn thing was still 7200 yards. Have fun on your trip!

Yeah I guess your right...Kentucky always seems like it should be down there, like Louisiana or Alabama, but yall are a bit north.
Don't get me wrong, Palm Springs is great, but the colder weather doesn't bother me too much, and it's worth the 3000 mile trip to spend the week with some great guys and some great golf. My uncle is actually from Jersey, near Tom's River.
Ok, since it's like a family reunion, I'll give you a free pass this time. But I still think you're crazy for playing in Myrtle Beach in February! Have fun and play good!
Your list is terrific...but drop Beachwood in favor of Aberdeen (since it's already somewhat on your list)...or add Glen Dornoch (since you already have two Glens courses on your list and have played Shaftsbury previous, the other Glens course).
Beachwood is the red-headed stepchild on your list (and it recently announced it's closing). You'll be disappointed. It's a dog-track and nowhere near the quality of what you have on your list.
See you then! ;)

I have to agree with you on Beachwood. It's an easy course, but never has been in that good of shape. The greens are always really slow and hairy. Unfortunately, the coordinator of this event has been having the final day of the 3 day tournament at Beachwood for years now, and is kind of stuck in his ways. I'll be sure to let him know that it's closing and I'm sure next year our final round will be a nicer venue. Thanks for the heads up on that.
Well the time has come...I leave for MB tomorrow night and won't be back until a week from Monday. Weather looks like it's a little cool, but not much rain in the forecast for next week. I can't wait to get out of town for a week and just play golf. I'm psyched.
Last time I played in February, it was 32* when we teed off. The weather forecast wasn't as cold then as it is now. I wasn't prepared for that weather and went scrounging for some cold weather gear. I think every piece of warm clothes had already been snatched up. Take your cold weather gear with you.

Will do. It's tough teeing off at 9:00 am when you can't feel your hands. I've got the gear for it, so it won't be too bad I hope.
I think the place we stay has PC access in the lobby, or one of the guys has a laptop. Either way, I'll find a way to get on and post how things are looking. Weather says it might get down into the low 40's for the daytime high a couple days. I aint used to that kind of weather.
Yeah true...it's has been cold for So Cal., but it just seems like a different cold down there. I don't know what it is. I'm bringing some thermals to wear under my slacks.
: See yall later, I'm heading to LAX. More than likely I'll be back online a week from this sunday. I'll jump on if I get the chance. Try not to let this place go into foreclosure while I'm gone. thumbsup:
