The better the course, the more $ surcharge you will pay. But golfers should not look $ surcharges but rather look at the total cost to play the course. In order to not confuse our golfers, we do not have 2 sets of prices (regular price plus surcharges) as some of our competitors have which can be misleading sometimes, our prices includes green fee, carts, surchcrages (if any) and taxes. For example, Pebble Beach might $50 plus a $250 surcharge, who really cares about the surcharges, the bottom line is you're paying $300 for a great course and experience. Hopefully this helps you out.

Surcharges are not waived for locals.

So what exactly is the point of a surcharge? If the surcharge is not waived for locals, it would seem the price is the same for everyone. So why not just charge a $300 green fee?

I tell you what, though, I would be [very very disappointed] if I showed up at a golf course with a published rate of $50 and was charged twice that once I got there.

To avoid any pro shop "surprises" I'd call the course and confirm the total price to play before I booked a round there.
That's a great source of information, thanks a lot, League!

That is why our rates include everything, no hidden costs, some other golf packagers will advertise their rates without the surcharges and "mislead" their customers, but not us....no hidden costs

Golf packager's rates have to be lower than the golf course's rates or else us golf packagers would not be in business very long.....we negotiate significant discounts every year with every Myrtle Beach golf course.
