Michael,

Welcome to Georgia! There are several nice courses in the area. Several are run by the same company (Eagle Greens), Providence Club, The Chimneys, Woodlake; then there's the Chateau Elan, Reunion Club, the Traditions, and Royal Lakes.

Check out http://www.lmtt.com/Default.asp, the Athens and Northeast sections for some good courses.

Just a little further south there's Cherokee Run, Cedar Lakes, and The Oaks.

I'm between Cedar Lakes, Woodlake, and Cherokee Run. If you're in the area, and can put up with a hacker, give me a yell.

The LMTT link is the real deal...I got on to tons of great courses cheap when I lived there...there is a restaurant in the center of Athens (was?) that was really good...young chef that had worked under Gary Danko in SF and returned to his roots with his first restaurant effort...I used to drive from Norcross just to eat there...Five and Ten was the name, right at the five points intersection...http://www.fiveandten.com/

A few minutes North of you in Homer would be Hammer's Glen. Excellent course.

Twenty minutes North of that would be Apple Mountain. Great course for the money.
