Over spring break I will be visiting Myrtle Beach. I will have the oppurtunity to play a lot of golf, and was wondering what courses are recomended. If any one has any recomendations that would be great. Thanks!
I live in North Myrtle and am a ranger at Sandpiper Bay in Calabash, NC. Sandpiper is right next door to Thistle. But, if you want the real skinny on Myrtle Beach golf, you should visit [url="http://www.mgba.com. [/URL] This is for Myrtle Beach Golf Association and it lists the courses with good descriptions and rates them as well, with either a "Red", "Yellow" or "Green" light which need no explanation.
Let me know if this helps you. I have no connection with the site whatsoever.
Caledonia, True Blue, TPC, The Dunes, Grande Dunes, King's North, Barefoot (all 4 courses), Long Bay, Tidewater, River's Edge, Heritage, Oyster Bay and Tiger's Eye. Please let me know if you have any other questions, thanks.
Shankshot, my dual foursomes will be playing at Sandpiper Bay on Friday (we're actually staying there Thursday through Saturday). We'll be under the name Jones, tee time is 12:20. Will you be working?

Sorry I won't be working Friday but the starter will a gentleman named Keith Ashton, who happens to be from England and believe me, he is a piece of work. Mention that you know Ed Bocko, aka, Shankshot, you'll get a million laughs. I'll see him tomorrow night at a meeting and I'll mention it to him.
Also, you gotta play the Bay Course (they have 3 nines). Water on 8 holes.
I agree with playing the big cats. The 4th course just opened (I think it's Panther Paw) which I understand is private. I have a golfing buddy that used to work at a course that was co-owned with the cats and a couple of times a year, he'd get us on for $25 a pop - As the Godfather said, "A deal you can't refuse" Great courses.

Sorry we're going to miss you. I'll certainly say hello to Keith. We're hoping to get in 27 that day, so we should be hitting all 3 nines.
The Big Cats at Ocean Ridge are great; this is the 3rd year in a row we'll be playing at least 2 rounds there on our annual trip. This year we're hitting Panther's Run & Tiger's Eye. MBGA.com references a surly attitude by the employees, but I've not noticed it on our visits there (5 rounds over two years). Tiger's Eye is terrific, but Panther's Run is still my favorite due to the nature preserve it runs along. Lion's Paw is also very good.
