Going undefeated playing a Big 10 schedule is a rarity no matter how much talent you have. Throw in a couple of high caliber non-conference games and "going undefeated every other year" isn't likely, or expected.

If I lived in Iowa.....I'd look forward to just about anything sports related.

Good luck this coming season.

MinnSkinny: We just hope we can keep Ferentz for a looooooooooooooooong time. He's doing ok and has proven that his method is working. Everyone is really looking forward to this fall's college football campaign.

You mean the Big Ten might actually have a team worth talking about this year? I haven't really been following the college football scene since the end of the bowl season....I don't even know if my Seminoles will be worth a hill of beans this year.

A joke, my friend, a joke. I know Iowa will have a nice team this year and probably a good shot at a title if the pieces fall into place in the proper way.

Actually, I sorta have a soft spot for the Hawkeyes because they seem to be stocking their rosters with players who come from a semi-local (really 60 miles away, but the nearest big-ish city and the only top high school team this area has had for a while, Cathedral Prep in Erie, PA) high school. I know Bob Sanders and Ed Hinkel both came to Iowa via Cathedral Prep, and I tend to keep an eye on local products, so I've kinda followed them for the past couple years.

Iowa better watch out for my Cardinals on September 3rd...We're going to be to prove what we can do....

Ok I just hope Ball State is going to be enough of a speed bump to slow Iowa down...I don't want another team to break 70 on us....

You may have a chance early on. We are replacing the whole front 4 on def. and some defensive backs, but offense is intact. I'm just hoping it's going to be a plug-and-play situation. lol.

And what is that you "can do"? Give up 500 yards passing in a half?

Already conceding Sept. 10, eh?

Of course, after that, I hope you right the ship and win the MAC West! Or at least beat Toledo again.
