2012 Olympics
So who do you think is going to win the Olympics? How are the American media presenting it?
Over here the media reckon New York and Moscow are long long shots, with Paris and London the front runners - Paris are favourites but have been acting like winners-elect and that could sway votes against them.

New York's presentation was reported as the best, but they seem long shots.
Beware Madrid.....

NY Moscow and Madrid are now out. I think there is a VERY good chance NY will go for and get 2016.

Go London! Paris's usual architectural excesses and pretentious displays will make the Olympics unwatchable.

FANTASTIC news - just the boost this city needs in terms of infrastructure and regeneration. Really didn't think London would scrape.
Paris have bid 3 times now, I'm guessing they won't go again since 2016 will not be in Europe and quite possibly not 2020 either.
I've heard NY have been all but promised 2016...

Congratulations to London!
I find it interesting and pleasing the sense of community I've developed since joining this forum. When I heard on the radio this morning that London had been chosen for the Olympics, I was truly excited for our GR friends in the U.K. It was the same when Michael Campbell won the U.S. Open. One of my first thoughts was how excited
girlgolfa and
kiwidave would be. Of course, I will always pull for the U.S. But now, I like the fact that when the U.S. "loses", I can be excited for our friends here from other parts of the world.
