GO BUCKS!!! - look for me at the game, I'll be the guy in an OSU jersey.
Since a few might not notice it in the main thread, I figured I may as well just go ahead and make a new thread each week. I'll transfer everyone's picks over here for this week, and stick each one for the week.
There are a few heavyweight tussles this weekend. Actually glad now that I'm not working Saturday and can take in the action.
First, the Michigan-Notre Dame game has the feel of a marquis matchup again. Both teams are talented and come in with high expectations....I'd expect a super game between them. In the end, I think home field advantage will be the deciding factor and Michigan will edge Notre Dame out...since I've gotten in the habit of predicting scores I'll say 24-20.
The second big matchup will be in Tempe, where the ASU Sundevils take on the LSU Tigers. LSU has to have the edge, as I think they've got a great shot at winning it all, but ASU can be tough at home and the offense they have can jump up and bite anyone. So I'll go with LSU 38, ASU 28.
The biggest matchup has to be Texas at Ohio State. It's great to see two highly regarded nonconference foes facing off...typically it's rare to see a nonconference matchup of this caliber except in the bowl games. I'll definitely make it a point to catch these top 5 teams go at it. Ohio State will be fired up at the Shoe, but Vince Young I think will be able to fluster the OSU defense with his speed and throwing ability, and Texas will take a tight one, 21-17.
And finally, I have to mention my Noles....playing the Citadel, I would hope Weatherford or Lee will look a little better. The guess is that the defense will continue to dominate and the offense will look good for at least one game ...FSU 56, Citadel 7.
