Now that we're winding down the NCAA regular season, the debate over who should win the highest award, the Heisman Trophy, heats up even more. This season could be the tightest race at the top in a while. The top two candidates, without a doubt, are USC's Reggie Bush and Texas' Vince Young. The other guys at the trophy presentation will likely be filler, but they've all had strong seasons and deserve some recognition. So, who do you think deserve's the nations top honor?
I have to go with Reggie Bush as the winner...he's been so explosive this year and his 500+ yard performance against Fresno State was his "signature game" to impress voters with. Young has also had some great games, and some mediocre ones. Bush will really have a chance to seal it if he puts up big numbers against UCLA this week (and I think he will).
1. Reggie Bush
2. Vince Young
3. Brady Quinn
4. Michael Robinson
5. Matt Leinart
[sarcasm=wazmankg]Oh let's just give it to Brady Quinn. A Trojan won it last year and Notre Dame is long overdue for another undeserving Heisman Trophy winner.[/sarcasm]
It's just that this is the most over-hyped award in sports...fitting that it's given for the same sport that decides it's "National Champion" by computer. Seriously I'll stick with Quinn of those on the list.

My vote goes to Reggie Bush as well. He was in the running for the Heisman last year, but I think he's taken his ability to another level this year. Some of the runs he's made this year are just amazing. I do agree Vince Young is a great quarterback but I think he lost some supporters after the A&M game.
There is no more outstanding college football player in the nation than Michael Robinson. He has played running back, wide receiver, and quarterback in his career at Penn State and excelled in all of the roles he was asked to fill for the good of the Nittany Lion program.
Without him at quarterback this year, Penn State would not have the outstanding record they have achieved. With each game he becomes a better quarterback, but for all-around football talent, there's no one on the list who can touch him.

I think you have something there. Unfortunately, the Michael Robinson hype machine never got going this season for some reason. I thought it was an absolute travesty that he was not voted Big 10 offensive player of the year, and it would also be a shame if he wasn't invited to New York for the presentation. What a great way to finish a senior season for a player who couldn't seem to find a position for most of his collegiate career.
I get the impression from all the pundits that Bush is the odds-on favorite...from what I've seen I can't argue with that...how many ints for for Robinson and Young? Before I vote...is the poll who I think should win or who I think is likely to win?
Let's see...the only back to back winner was Griffin in 74 and 75 so that makes it tough for Leinart, imo. He and Bush are the best dual threat in the NCAA...not sure how one would fare without the other tho...Quinn is responsible for the most td's, followed by Young and Olsen (impressive numbers)...Robinson and Young have similar numbers and both are instrumental to their teams' success but I'd have to give the edge to Robinson considering the range of his talent vs. Young's occasional squirrelly game (he's certainly talented but I sense a collective uneasiness about his reliability)...Williams not a consideration, imo. IF the numbers stay the same relative to one another AND the trophy is based on this year's performance only, then it would be hard not to give it to the player with the most td's - Quinn...Bush appears to be the frontrunner (pun intended), however, so he will most likely win, imo, but, even though his numbers this year may not quite measure up against the other QB's, I'd give it to Robinson based on his range and importance to the team. Talented pool, for sure.

Personally I think Reggie cinched it with his performance against UCLA. Vince Young has had a great season and he's a terrific athlete. I think HE has the potential to be an even better NFL passer than Micheal Vick (Which may not be saying a whole lot ). But Reggie is just SPECIAL and his showed it by getting OVER 200 YARDS rushing in ONE HALF.
