NFL Fans - 2006 Hall of Fame Nominees

At least 3 & no more than 6 are selected. Here are the 25 semi-finalists -

http://www.profootballhof.com/hall/r...elease_id=1853

Who do you think belongs ?

My "locks" would be -

Reggie White
Warren Moon
Dermontti Dawson

after that it gets tougher to choose...

Do the 3 SBs get Aikmen in ? His stats aren't that impressive otherwise. I'd say no for now but I bet he gets a nod.

Same with Michael Irvin. His stats fall a little short and his off field exploits could hurt him.

No one was as dominant as Derrick Thomas, albeit for a relatively short time.

How can Andre Reed and Art Monk be denied ? .. over 900 catches each ? But they both have a 2nd tier aura about them.

If they're ever going to choose a punter Ray Guy would be it.

Who would be your picks ?

I definitely agree with you on Warren Moon and Reggie White, Troy Aikman (only 1 of 3 who have 3 Superbowl victories - Bradshaw and Brady the other two....

and either Monk or Reed, I don't know about both, but if Monk then next year you gotta put in Reed....or vice-versa. Dawson probably next year as well.

gotta have art monk - he was the redskins #1 posssesion receiver on 4 super bowl teams(i know, he only won 3 of those).
russ grimm needs to be there also - he did a lot of blocking for john riggins during those redskins super bowl years(he was the head HOG).
ray guy without a doubt. first punter ever selected in the first round. under john madden he put "hang time" in the NFL vocabulary.
the first 3 picks i'd like to see for sure.
picks 4 thru 6 - ken stabler, harry carson, roger wehrli.
i don't want to see warren moon - he ought to have big passing #s. the oilers threw the ball almost every down(the run and shoot). besides he beat his wife. and mike irvin is just a lying crackhead and nobody likes that.
outside of that there's a good case for everybody on the list - i guess that's why they're there.

My "Locks".....Troy Aikman, Reggie White, George Young. I don't think anyone else will make it.

But second tier.....Art Modell.

There are many good offensive linemen, but don't think one is better than the other, so its hard for me to pick one over the other.

George Young is a good call. Aikman will probably get in too...those rings carry a lot of influence... one of my pet peeves. I'll be shocked if Moon doesn't get in. They made Jurgensen & Tarkenton wait a couple of years each, though, and they were both no-brainers too. On the other hand Fouts went straight in and he never even made it to the big game.

Aikman, Guy, Monk, Kuechenberg, White, Stabler

Thurman Thomas, Moon, Irvin, Greenwood, and others will all have to wait a few years.
